I had a regular swing for my first daughter but my second daughter (who hates to be put down) wouldn't sleep in it. I bought this and she sleeps for hours in it.
The Papasan swing is so soft and my baby girl loves it. But, now that she is 4mths she wants to sit more up more in her swing and it just doesnt sit upright for her- it seems as though she is still reclined. It is also louder than I thought it would be while swinging.
Elissa would take nice long naps in this swing and now that she's more awake during the day she loves to watch herself in the mirror and listen to the music. Gives me a little time to do stuff while she's happily entertained.
My daughter lived with me while her husband was stationed away in the Air Force, her first baby was born with severe colic. This swing provided the only rest that mother or grandmother got for the first three months. We felt comfortable with the safety of the baby in the swing, also.
Wonderful swing, especially good for hiper energetic babies since you can rotate it into different directions. my six weeks old finally falls asleep in it.
Our daughter had colic and would not sleep for the first 4 months unless we were holding her OR put her in this swing! Even as her sleep got better, she was still calmed by it. We were so disappointed when we had to stop using it at 8 months old because she could sit up on her own! I'm getting rid of most of her baby stuff to keep the clutter under control, but I refuse to get rid of this swing. It's staying in the attic until we're absolutely sure no other babies are in our future.
Love this swing! I already had a swing but read the reviews here and chose to buy this swing when our son was one month old. He can sleep in this swing because it reclines for sleeping and there is enough room to keep him swaddled. My husband said this swing was a lot easier to install and seems more stable than the other swing we had purchased. It is worth the money any time you can get your baby to fall asleep a little faster!
I got this for my son before he was born thinking it looked comfy. I was so right. He loved it from the start, and as he got older really loved looking at himself in the mirror. I can't tell you the number of naps my son as taken in this thing. I love it!!
This was a sleep saver for us for the first few months. I feared that we were creating a swing addict but he's sleeping through the night without it at 7 months.
Great swing! My 2 month old son loves to quietly observe. Also, we washed the seat and it came out perfect!
This is a great swing for a newborn, because the seat accommodates them well. My newborn really likes it. I do have a couple of negatives that were fixable. One, it swings pretty fast for a newborn, but that can be fixed by hanging a towel off the seat. The other, our motor was defective, so the mobile didn't work. We called Fisher Price and they immediately sent out another one that did work.
I have had this swing for 6 months. When she was small it seemed to work pretty good except for it was very noisy when you would take her in and out. Now that she weighs 17 lbs she can make the whole swing very noisy just when she turns her head. You have to make sure the legs are spread far apart other wise it rocks back and forth. It doesn't seem very sturdy to me.
My son takes his daytime naps in this swing. However, it swings too vigorously for any baby under about 12 pounds. When my son was about 10 pounds, I had it on the lowest setting, and he almost bounced out. Now that he is bigger, it is a much better product.
this swing is awesome! my son loves it soooo much! it calms him down and puts him to sleep very well! it saves me in the middle of the night when he decides to stay up. i put him in there and he goes right to sleep! i love it!
I could not survive without this swing! My baby absolutely loves being in it. We use it as her daytime sleeping spot. If its anywhere near nap time, she's out cold within 5 minutes of putting her in it. It looks so comfortable too! I actually fear the day when she's too big for it b/c I'm not sure what we'll put her in to nap after that. It sucks up battery power though if you use it a lot.
