While I loved the plush cotton, the diaper is very poorly designed and leaks CONSTANTLY!!
It fits poorly, very tight around the leg and a very stiff diaper.
If you must use them, be sure to work the diaper out before you put it on by loosening the stiff cotton design.
While I love chemical free products, these just don't cut it.

I use cloth diapers as well but when I take my child for some day care I use this which is really good comparing to regular diapers...if you like the way plastic diapers are this is not for you. The purpose of this diaper is prevent diaper rash, prevent chemicals getting in your baby's skin, help environment, avoid harsh chlorine, get accurate pee and poop results and color.

My three kids have all been extremely sensitive to the gel, bleach, chlorine and other diaper additives which give them extreme diaper rash. These diapers are great! Although the the adjustability of the diaper is old school and could be improved; they fit well, absorb really well and don't leak (especially for breast feed babies, messy diapers, or heavy wetters). I have tried all the diapers that are "chemical free" as well as cloth. These are by by far he best, I would definitely recommend this diaper and will continue to buy them!

I have a 14 month old daughter with very sensitive skin. I mainly use cloth diapers, but will sometimes use disposables when we are not at home. I noticed that every time I used disposables, my daughter would break out in red, itchy bumps. Not so with Tushies! I love the fact that they are gel free, fragrance free, and latex free. I agree with a previous reviewer that these will be not as stiff if you roll them in your hands before putting it on your baby. We have not had any problems with leaks, and my daughter no longer has a rash from all the strong fragrances in other disposables! Some other reviewers have commented on these running large, but we have found them to be true to size. My daughter is tall and thin, around 22 lbs, and the size large fits great.

SUPERIOR DIAPERS! I have a healthy and happy baby boy who makes huge pee and poo messes. From the moment he grew into size S we have been using only Tushies diapers. My baby's bottom is as smooth and white as porcelain.

We found that Tushies diapers are more absorbent and leak-free than other diapers. We tried Seventh Generation, Earth's Best, Huggies Natural and Pampers and we found that all of them irritated his skin and were more leaky than Tushies. Tushies diapers, when properly fluffed (diaper filling gets compressed in packing and shipping) and attached (all tabs should be expanded), outperform other diapers. I think that diapers have to be changed when wet even if that means frequent diaper changes. Gel and/or other chemicals found in all other diapers simply obscure the fact that your kid's diaper is wet and dirty and needs to be changed, and they do not make it clean and dry.

There are only two issues with Tushies – 1) they do not come in a newborn format and 2) they are not widely available.

OK, so they are difficult to use at first.
FIT: One review had mentioned softening them up by rolling them in your hands- this made a HUGE difference in terms of fit. I grab a fresh diaper, open it up, hold one side in each hand, and sort of mash it about for a moment. Nothing major, but it loosens up the middle and makes it conform much better to the baby.
TABS: The tabs are the most consistent drawback, definitely. I have learned to deal with them (and not to try to put them on when there's still lotion on my hands!), but they are the one thing that keeps me from being ecstatic about these diapers.
LEAKING: I have had no problems with leaking, including use at naptimes and through the night.
HEALTH: I just love the fact that my daughter isn't being exposed to chemicals unnecessarily, and that they are somewhat better for the environment. To me, that's worth a bit of inconvenience with the tabs. (Although it would be great if they'd just use different tabs!)
SENSITIVITY: My daughter has ridiculously sensitive skin and frequently gets diaper rashes, regardless of diaper brand used (we've tried many!), and regardless of type of diaper (we use cloth most of the time). With the Tushies I have noticed no more irritation than normal, and often even less than with other disposables.

I am a first time parent and did a lot of research before my son's birth trying to find the best diaper available. Unfortunately, cloth diapers were not something we would be able to do, so I was thrilled when I came upon Tushies. I ordered two cases well before my baby was born and opened up two of the packages to fill the changing table up. Imagine my disappointment when my 7lb 12oz son was not able to wear them at birth. They were too big and because they have hardly any elastic around the legs and none around the waist, they left huge gaps. I tried them periodically and they were still big. They then remained in the closet for 4 months, forgotten. I came across them recently and tried again, but now my son is too big for the sizing. I am afraid to order the larger size due to the lack of elastic.

If you have the time and desire to do extra loads of laundry each day then by all means, buy these diapers. If not, save yourself the hassle. First of all, I bought the newborn size and they didn't fit my girls until they were 3 months old because they run SO BIG (and yes, my twins were small at birth -- around 6 lbs. each, but they were 12 lbs. before these would fit them)! But even so, when they did finally "fit" they leaked onto their clothes through every diaper. They are stiff and not at all absorbent. I would not recommend these diapers under any circumstances. Sorry Tushies -- LOVE the name though.

I've been using Tushies since my son was three months old (he just turned one) and I absolutely love them. They don't have any gel or fragrance and are super absorbant. He has never had a leak or rash with these diapers and wears them all through the day and night. Some have rated them as too stiff, bulky or poor fitting - they are definitely thicker than the standard gel diapers, since they are 100% cotton, but still comfortable and absorbant. Plus if you open them all they way they actually fit snugly.
Any one that is conscious of all the synthetic chemicals around us and our children should give these diapers a try.

I have been looking for a more natural diaper other then going all the way w/cloth. I have tried numerous brands but have not really liked any so when I found these I could not wait to try them. That was really short lived. Pretty much everything negitive people have said about this product is true. The worst part for me was after they got wet the cotton in them just got really really hard. I change my daughter's diaper a lot normally but w/these I was changing them all the time and could not wait to get done w/the box.

Still looking for the perfect diaper, sigh!!

I love that these are gel-free and if you need to use disposable diapers, these are the best. The only real con is that they aren't as absorbent as a gel diaper for overnights. You might want to consider a cloth diaper for that.

I have a now two year old that is slowly potty training, but for two years have been on a quest to find a diaper that did not cause her skin burns and rashes. She has extremely sensitive skin, and I spent many days changing her hourly. We could not figure out what was causing it. We tried Seventh Generation diapers, which I loved, but did not stop her skin from becoming red, raised and bleeding. So about five months ago, I tried Tushies. Well, they worked like a charm. She still gets small rashes, but nothing like before. Based on this, we discovered it was the gel in the diaper she was allergic too. We confirmed this when her father changed her and put an diaper with gel in it on her and within an hour she was suffering from a nasty skin burn like rash. I will never use any diaper with gel in it.

We really like these diapers, I feel so much better about using disposables with these. I hate that gel stuff from other diapers all over my baby's butt, and these are thick cotton and really keep the wetness away from his skin. But you do need to change them at least every 2-3 hours, or they will leak. We don't use them for overnight because of this, I wish we could. Before he started soilds sometimes his poops would leak too, but you just have to pay attention and change it right away. I would recommend these diapers to anyone who prefers to keep chemicals away from their baby's skin.

I love the concept of the product, but they just weren't for us. The flaps were not long enough to secure the diaper around my daughter comfortably. After a few days they even began to leave a red mark on the creases of her legs. They don't have elastic around them so as she moved around, the diaper "stretched out" leaving gaps around her belly/back. Also, as others have mentioned, they do not have Velcro tabs.
They were very absorbent and did not leak. I also love that they didn't have gel. This is the only product I found without gel. Unfortunately, we are returning the rest of the case.
