This is my 4th child. I used Similac with my 1st but changed to Good Start. That is all I have used every since. Protect Plus was not around when my others were babies so I thought I would try it. Unfortunately my baby became terribly constipated(3 sometimes 4 days before having another bm and then it was very hard like clay and painful for her). I switched to gentle plus, which is what my older girls had and that is working GREAT!!

After reading reviews about this formula, I decided to try it. My son was doing fairly well with regular Good Start, but was rather gassy/fussy. Within the first bottle of the Protect Plus, he took a 3 hour nap. He still passes gas, but it doesn't seem to be painful for him anymore. And he is back to going "#2" on a daily basis. I would highly recommend it for this and for the immunity protection as well!

Great product but don't heat the water! Read the label--you're killing the bifidobacteria, the very ingredient your paying extra for! And by the way, the same size can costs only [$] at the number one grocery superstore in America (I can't name names on this site)!

Our son had HORRIBLE constipation problems from day one (i.e. cramping, bleeding, etc...sorry to be graphic but I think its important for others dealing with this issue). We went through various regular brands of formula, lactose-free formula and soy formula with no change or help for the poor baby. While reading online, I noticed someone's posting about Good Start. I immediately ordered it, and the problem resolved within a week. This was 6 months ago, and he's been a happy, pain-free baby since. Yes, the formula does not mix well, but heating the water (before adding the formula) takes care of this problem. As one other person said here, a small price to pay!

This was the FOURTH formula we have tried to get rid of my son's terrible gas and constipation. Even the regular Good Start didn't fix it, but this one did! No more suppositories for us! His poop even smells less. The only thing is that you can't heat these bottles in a warmer or microwave...you can't heat them above 100 degrees or it kills the good bacteria in the formula. I just place the bottle in a bowl of warm water for 10 minutes or so and it's perfect.

I used GS orange can with my daughter, who is now 4 yrs old, and it worked wonderful with her. So this time around I figured I would use the same brand, but try the new green GS. Well, to my surprise it caused A LOT of gas, cramping, and crying, crying, crying.....needless to say both mommy and baby were super-unhappy. I'm not sure if it's the added ingredient or if my baby maybe has a lactose sensitivity, but we got off this formula quickly. Since then I switched to a lactose free formula form another brand and my little one is happy as can be.....

My daugher loved this product!!!! She started on Similac when she got home from the hospital and she was very gasy and screamed a lot. The Dr recommended we try this formula and within 2 day I had a happier baby.

I couldn't produce enough milk to breastfeed therefore relying on formula. This formula was a life saver for me and my baby. He had major gas and reflux problems on Similac Sensitive. I did gradually change him from Similac Sensitive to Good Start Natural Cultures, but once he was completly convereted he was a totally different baby. So much happier, could sleep without gas pains waking him, no more reflux! My doctor told me to be careful, babies tend to eat more of GS than other formulas, but actually, is was the opposite for him. It satisfied him to where he could sleep. It seemed like with the gas from Similac he wanted to eat more and more. I wish I would of had him on this formula from the get go! FYI: It does have a tendancy to clump when just shaking it. The best ever is the Dr. Brown's Formula mixing pitcher. Even if you don't use Dr. Brown bottles. It's awesome!!! A must for powdered formula.

We used Good Start Supreme (Orange Can) with our oldest in 2005 and had no problems, she loved it. Now with our second after 6 months of exclusive breastfeeding, it was time to wean. However - our child has reflux and a potential milk protein sensitivity (she always got annoyed when I had milk while bfeeding so I just gave up the milk). I was VERY worried about starting formula and contemplated a hypo allergenic formula. Our ped. suggested we try a regular formula first and see what worked.

I originally was going to go for the supreme again but thought the green (active cultures) might be more helpful for our cute, gassy, refluxer. AND -- bingo - she loves it. Gobbled it down from the first bottle, no problems, no gas, seriously - a very happy baby. I would recommend this to any parent that is coming out of the fog with a reflux baby or one in which you think is sensitive. I am so happy I gave active cultures a try and feel lucky that it works for us!

Ok, I could not produce enough breastmilk for my twin baby girls so my friend suggested that I try Good Start since it had the cultures and the babies' stools would be like breastfed babies...well it mixes horrible, both girls would vomit it ALL up every time, the mixture is inferior, there are NO nucleotides at all...read the ingredients..and both my girls got constipated so badly you could litterally feel the hard stool inside the baby girls. I had to take them to the doctor and we had to use supositories to get the stool out! It took a good two weeks to clear thier bowls. We switched to Similac Advance with the Earlyshield, it has the prebiotics which I feel are just as good as the probiotics, it has nuclotides, and it is not made with palm oil with is shown to reduce calcium absorbtion. My girls' have not been constipated at all, no more vomiting, and the bowl movements are JUST like when I breastfed them...lasting the Similac is CHEAPER! Oh and it mixes well, the Good Start Left a bunch of clumps!

My last son had severe constipation with every formula out even the hypoallergenic ones, this one came out after he turned one so he never got the benefits of it. When I had my daughter naturally I was scared it happen all over again, tried her on similac organic first and constipation, so I went straight to the natural cultures and she's been happy ever since. This formula is great and only a few dollars more than the regular, which is pretty close to the same but still gave my son constipation, so I will always stick to the natural cultures, I am so happy they made this formula it is the best! And now they even have a stage 2!

I've decided to switch from Enfamil to Good start natural cultures because of the prebiotics. Formula mixed very well. No clumps or foam. However, my son refuse to drink it. He would take a few slip then just stop drinking from the bottle turn away. We then switch back to Enfamil and he takes it right away. He probably doesn't like the taste.

My baby has acid reflux and has been on 6 different formulas. He was also on Emfamil A.R. which was good for him as far as spitting up. It was so thick though he got constipated and along with that he couldn't pass gass and it hurt him bad. So my husband and I researched on line and found this formula. I can thicken his formula without him getting contstipated and he dosen't throw it up. And he can pass gass freely. A happy baby equal a happy momma. It is truely a godsend.
