Comments about BOT - Straw Sippy Cup - Pink - 6 oz:

Five stars would mean this is my perfect cup. This is pretty close, except it can leak, so I had to give it 4 stars. If you want a leak-proof cup, this isn't it. (In my experience, many of the cheaper cups that don't leak are also very hard to suck water through the straw. Babies and toddlers and parents alike all frown upon that.) But the Zoli cup is super easy to get the water out. I have bought literally dozens of cups. I have two little ones, and each one loves this cup. My daughter (11 months) would not drink from a traditional sippy, and we tried other straw cups we own, to no avail. Alas, we busted out the Zoli cup the other day and she took to it immediately and drinks her water easily now. Done. She's happy, I'm happy. My older child has the big Zoli cup and loves it too. The best features, in my opinion: ease of drinking, easy for babies to learn to use, relatively leak-proof, weighted straw = no milk or water goes to waste. Enjoy this cup!

We loved the idea of this cup and that no matter what angle our baby holds the cup, he can still get liquid out, but this cup has a life of its own and LEAKS EVERYWHERE! It will just be sitting on the table with liquid pouring out. It's made a mess of our table, floor, car, diaper bag....etc. Not good.

Unless your robot of a child is holding this cup perfectly upright and still, it will leak EVERYWHERE. I can't understand why it's so difficult to create a sippy cup that does what it is supposed to do, without leaking the beverage all over. Still looking for a good cup, this is NOT it.

Comments about BOT - Straw Sippy Cup - Orange - 6 oz:

After reading other reviews, I bought this cup because of the ease of drinking out of the straw. I figured I could deal with a few "dribbles" of milk that others had mentioned. I am now at a point where I loathe this cup so much that my 21 month old says, "hate that cup," imitating me, every time she sees it. Milk does not dribble out - it EXPLODES like a geyser and doesn't stop for about 5 seconds every time the lid is opened. My poor daughter is afraid to open the lid now because she has had milk splatter her face so many times. I honestly feel like the people who designed this cup should come to my house and steam clean every floor and remove every milk stain as an apology for even putting this stupid thing on the market. Wait the extra month or two until your child can drink from a spill proof cup that requires more suction. No matter what the pediatrician says, that extra month on a bottle will not prevent your child from speaking properly or going to college. And you will save your sanity.

At first I was super grateful for this cup (as it was the only one my daughter would drink from). Now, I just loathe them (and am switching my daughter to something else). They leak all the time (we have 3 and ALL 3 are super leaky...We also have an adult water bottle that also leaks all the time)...Also, the straws only last about 3 weeks and constantly need to be replaced. I'm so disappointed.

Comments about BOT - Straw Sippy Cup - Pink - 6 oz:

This is the best cup we have found. With the help of another reviewer saying not to screw the lid on too tightly we rarely ever have leaks - completely unlike nearly every other cup we have tried. Our daughter also enjoys launching it across the room and no cracks - whew! However, after a couple of months of using the one cup solely she had bitten the top off enough to create a big hole and thus, our leakproof cup was no more. Diapers.com was helpful but said that it wasn't something that would be returnable since she had damaged it (understandable). I then called Zoli's customer service and they are sending me a replacement straw at no cost that should be here within a couple of days. Highly recommended!

We have tried about 8 different sippy cups, two of them straw cups.

Unlike most sippy cups that do a good job of stopping leaks, this cup has a decent amount of flow without having to suck ridiculously hard (i tried them all myself). My son likes to pick up his cups and wave them around, so other faster flowing cups (straw and sippy) did not work for us either, because when he shook them around milk/water/juice would fly everywhere. On this cup, there is actually a valve at the end of the straw that stops flying fluids.

The other great thing about this cup for babies just learning to use it is that the fluid doesn't immediately drop back into the cup after they stop sucking. It releases slowly, so it takes baby less time to learn that sucking a little gets them water (etc), i.e., they don't have to suck consistently for a long time to get liquid. I think that contributed to my son learning how to use this quickly.

We haven't been using the cup that long, but what I have noticed is that if you shut the lid while there is still fluid in the top of the straw, the action of shutting the lid pushes the liquid out of the straw and that causes leaks. If you wait for the fluid to drop past the top of the lid, the cup doesn't leak.

It is also possible that the straw degrades over time, as does all silicon (especially if your baby chews on it), which is why they offer a set of replacement straws.

I don't mind how we have to clean it. I usually use soap on all the hard plastic parts and remove the cover that closes over the straw and wash that with soap too. I also use soap on the outside of the straw where my son puts his mouth, and I run water through the straw as directed. It takes no less time to wash than a Dr. Brown's bottle. You can also put them in the dishwasher (top rack).

I would suggest you don't buy this cup. I bought it for my daughter because I needed a cup with a straw for her to drink milk out of and the weight at the bottom would assure me that she was getting every last drop. Unfortunately, I have never been more frustrated with a cup. The milk leaks out of the top of the straw and gets everywhere...every time. I'm guessing it has something to do with the suction/air pressure. There is nothing worse than milk or water leaking out into your diaper bag all over everything. Really a terrible cup.

I've purchase more straw cups than I care to admit to. lol. My daughter is 18 months and these are by far our favorite. they do way there issues but not near as many as others and I haven't found any I like as much as these. the 6 oz is perfect for her little hands and the weighted straw is awesome. they fit perfect in our cup holders. She tossed from high chairs and has thrown it everywhere and still holding up.

I am shocked they are still in business because they can't have return customers and word of mouth spreads.

the cup leaks everywhere! it might as well not have a lid.
also unless you buy some special cleaner you manually have to squeeze water through the straw to "clean" it. not really sure how clean it is getting and what caregiver has time to do this????

the sad thing is that my son loves the handles and the rate the straw releases water but we absolutely can't use it anymore because of the leaking.

                                        do not buy this.

I bought 4 of these for my 18 month old who was no longer using bottles, but loved to drink from a straw.

PROS: nice design, only 2 separate parts to clean (not including straw that needs regular replacing), top closes over straw which makes it nice for travel, doesn't break when dropped

CONS: doesn't keep beverages cold, straws needs replacing and they are a bit costly

BIGGEST CON: this cup was awesome at first, but over time it started to act like a slow volcano as milk and other beverages would bubble up out of the top of the straw and leave a huge puddle around the cup. This happens all the time when the cup is simply sitting on a table... then my toddler grabs it and milk everywhere! DO NOT buy this cup if you are tryin to avoid spills. Wasted a lot of money; wish I had spent it on insulated spout cups.

If you have a baby/toddler who throws stuff from the high chair walks around with a sippy cup this is no for you. I am on my 2nd cup and this one is on its last handle because my son throws it from the high chair and it cracks and breaks and then starts to leak because the crack gets bad. This sippy cup does not leak but its not durable at all probably best for a 5 year old.

Our little one needed to start drinking more fluids per our doctor because of constipation but wouldn't take a bottle. I started with sippy cups - tried at least five types and all he did was chew on them, not drink. Also, he couldn't sit up yet while tipping the cups to get water - so they didn't work. I thought a straw cup would work since he could lean his head down to drink instead of tipping the cup in the air. He figured the zoli bot cup out quickly!!!

A few days of praise from mom when sipping through the straw and removing the straw the few times he tried to chew on it and he figured out that it's for drinking and not chewing. The good thing about this is that you can close the top to bring it in a diaper bag and the weighted straw. Also, the straw has a valve type opening so that the baby isn't overloaded with fluid when they sip.

My son's speech therapist was really impressed that he figured this out and apparently straw cups are good for speech development - so if your child is getting therapies, ask your therapist for advice too.

I haven't had any of the leaking issues between the area where the cup and top connect like other reviewers claim but the straw part does leak a bit if theres fluid in it when you try to close the top or when baby shakes it around a lot.

Overall, I'm sooooooooo happy we found a way for our little guy to get more fluids. He really does love this cup - he reaches for it and oohs and ahhs when he sees me bringing it to him. He learned to drink multiple ounces at a time from it within just two weeks.
