We love these jackets, especially in the younger baby year. They are easy on, lays out flat for babies & quick to slip on a squirmy toddler. The double front layer is especially good for keeping babies snug in the cold when they are travelling in car seats or strollers. I also think that on the older active toddler it's also a bonus as keeping the area your vital organs reside in works to keep you warm. The fleece itself is nice & thick so having only the single layer across the back, hood & sleeves has given me no concern. This isn't however a "winter coat", it is a fleece jacket abeit a nice thick warm one. They are so very soft, snugly, warm and give the child a good range of motion. No tight arms here or restrictive body! Yes the inner ribbon tie can be a bit fiddly but I haven't found it a particular nuisance. You do really need to secure this inner flap on a moving toddler (babies you won't need to) otherwise the inside piece drops down and the jacket looks all lumpy & bumpy at the front. These jackets also wash & dry wonderfully. You will find that the normal piling of polar fleece shows up more on the lighter colors. However that being said I have only ever bought the palest pink for my daughter (we are now on our 4th jacket for size) and they have all still been in really great gently used condition for passing down even after many many washes! I would recommend only laundering the pale pink with the whitest of whites to preserve the color & prevent that horrid grey tinge light fleece material can get. The ribbon on the hood (girls colors only) is just so cute. Functional as well as it allows you to pull the hood snug around their face. The pixie hood is also very sweet. This always ends up being our go to jacket for spring & fall. Not once has my daughter refused to wear this jacket and she's my very fussy miss.

We bought this coat for my infant & loved it. The velcro is so much easier than a zipper. It's a great coat for wearing in a carseat. We bought some bigger sizes & still love them. It is a great fall jacket or a layer under a coat. It makes getting out of the house eaiser & the kids look like little elves.

We have this coat in a 2t for my 17 month old son. It is roomy but fits and I would anticipate he will still be able to wear it for about a year based on the design allowing for a somewhat adjustable fit. This coat is thick and warm, and the Velcro makes it easy to put on. I love the cute point elvish hood, and the gathering of the hood which keeps it up on my son's head and out of his eyes. It has an interior small loop and tie that I find hard to close on a wiggly child and makes the coat slower to put on/take off, so I just don't usually hook that part. Overall, it is a good quality jacket!

I have bought this jacket for the past 3 years for my daughter. It keeps her nice & warm. True to size with wiggle room. Will continue to buy until she outgrows the sizes.

Loved our previous widgeon zip front jackets - not these. This Might work for an infant in a carrier but does not work for active toddlers. Hard to fasten, if you don't tie the tie and fasten the Velcro, they have jacket flying off. Child ends up double covered on front but single layer on back and sleeves, so are they warm enough??

Putting on a coat is a constant battle with my 10 month old, but he loves this hoody. It's extremely warm, and cozy. I hate fleece but the structure makes it look a bit more stylish.

This jacket is adorable and worth every penny. Don't have to worry about a zipper since it velcro's at the top. It is soft and warm and my little one looks adorable in it!

What a beautiful fleece! My 8 month old did not fuss AT ALL when I put it on her. And she looks so cute in it! I bought her the 6-9 month and I think she will be able to wear if for a while, since there is no zipper, just the velcro.
