Comments about Diaper Cover - Baby Bird Blue:

I love the thirsties. My only complaint is that the velcro tabs stop sticking after a while. When you have an active toddler, you need maximum closure or your prefold sticks out underneath. A little gap and it leaks and you have to change their pants. An easy way to deal with this is cut a piece of sturdy 2 inch wide loop velcro and link the tabs together. This holds all the closures together and prevents the tabs from coming undone by rubbing on their clothes.

          My favorite PUL cover

Thanks to some generous hand-me-downs, I've had the opportunity to try lots of different covers--Thirsties Duo Wrap, Bummis Superbrite, Bummis Super Whisper, Weehuggers--but the basic Thirsties cover is my favorite so far. I use it over either a tri-folded or snappied diaper, and it seems to hold in messes well, either way. Love the double gussets, and the PUL is much softer than the Bummis covers. I really like that sized covers are smooth in front without all the extra snaps. The fit is very generous--the Small fits my fat 14-lb 2 month old with room to spare. This is my first time cloth diapering and, for anyone else just starting out, I highly recommend giving prefolds/covers a try. I find them much easier to use and wash than the much more expensive (and supposedly more convenient) all-in-one or pocket-style diapers. I only use PUL covers during the day and prefer wool at night--it really lets my son's bum breathe and his skin is clear as a whistle every morning--no rash, no red marks.

Comments about Diaper Cover - Butter:

I was able to use these when my baby reached about 5 weeks old. The size 1 still fits her and she is about 9-10 lbs. However, the hook and loop is so worn they do not hold together well. I was able to use these as an overnight with my baby while she fit them and NO LEAKS. She also sleeps ALL night for about 8-10 hours. Wish they made the sized wraps in button!

I use these with microfiber inserts and they work extremely well. The built-in leg gussets are perfect, they contain everything. It's a very trim fitting diaper which allows for the use of multiple liners if you want a great overnight diaper. Could not be more happy with this cover!

Comments about Diaper Cover - Baby Bird Blue:

We used Thirsties for our first son, who is now 3 - went through all the sizes XS to L, though he wasn't in size L for long, since he potty trained around 22 months. Now we're getting ready to use them again for baby #2. They're durable and have held up well, with only a bit of minor staining on some of the white gusset areas, and a bit of wear on the velcro. I'm ordering a couple more in size XS, since I only have 6 of those, and I think 8 is a more manageable number, especially with the number of poops you deal with at the newborn stage (especially breastfed babies). It's the only diaper cover we ever used, and we love them!

We used a local diaper service, so we had the standard prefolds that are provided by the service to go inside the cover. I've used a Snappi a few times, but honestly find it just as effective (and easier) to just fold them and fasten the Thirsty around it snuggly. Never had any blowouts, and only ever had a couple of minor leaks, usually from accidentally having the diaper not tucked all the way into the cover, so that it wicked out onto clothes. For the record, the handful of times we had to put a disposable on our son, we had awful leaks/messes, so I am doubly impressed with how well Thirsties contain the mess.

We used these both day and night. We did have to double up on prefolds for nighttime, to make sure we didn't have leaks. Makes for a very bulky bum, which is hilarious to see, but it worked for us, and the little guy didn't mind.

Also, my son never had any diaper rashes, for which I'm thankful. We were always quick to change him out of soiled/wet diapers, which I think is key.

As to ease of use, I don't see how it could be any easier. Either at home or on the go, we'd just pre-load the covers with the folded diapers, so they're ready to use just like a disposable. Used them at daycare - no problem, just had the provider drop the soiled diapers and covers into a wetbag, so it was no extra work for her. We even used them traveling, which wasn't a big hassle - though the prefolds do take up much more space than disposables.

The covers hold up nicely with washing - and you don't always need to wash after each use, unless it gets soiled or starts to smell of urine. We used the dryer much of the time, but tried to do a lot of line drying as well, to reduce wear.

All in all, I couldn't be happier with these, and highly recommend!

Comments about Diaper Cover - Baby Bird Blue:

I used these Thirsties with my first son (now potty trained), and will be using them again next year when my second son is born. We used a diaper service, so we used the cotton prefolds provided by the service along with the Thirsty covers. We had such an easy time - almost zero leaks, and NO blowouts. (The few minor incidents of urine wicking onto clothes were due to parental error in making sure the prefold was properly tucked in, not the cover's fault.)
We used the prefolds without Snappis (or pins), just used a basic "angel" fold for the diaper and closed the Thirsty snuggly around it. I know some prefer to use Snappis, but I found it to be an unnecessary extra step.
We used all sizes, from XS to L, and found them overall very true to size. The one thing I didn't anticipate is that I probably didn't need to buy so many in size L in advance, because by the time my son was big enough for them (around 2Y), he was daytime potty trained, and only needed them at night.
We always preloaded our covers with diapers so they were ready to use - made diaper changes a breeze, whether at home or away, with no mounds of diapers being added to a landfill. I can't recommend these enough!
Hanging to dry is ideal - but we still used the dryer much of the time, and it wasn't a problem.
