      Who knew

By Holli, boy on the way

If you're like me and you want to know the "real" details, this is the book. It reads more like a letter from your best friend who's not afraid to tell you like it is. I let a much younger friend borrow this one and she loved it. She says it's easier to understand than some of the more technical books, and now she's not so afraid.

I read this book during my first pregnancy 10 years ago...and I'm reading again for my second pregnancy right now. Very funny! Not great for really serious topics you may be investigating, but who needs another one of THOSE books anyway! Loved it...

I received this book as a gift when I got pregnant. I couldn't put it down! It was as if reading it comforted me in a way that no one else could. I hope to pass it along to one of my sisters when they get pregnant - or I'll just buy them thier own!

      Forget it

This book was moronic. I read it with interest but was offended when the author "CHOSE" a doctor for me over a midwife. almost refusing to discuss midwives altogether. I found this very degrading and uninformed as well as uninformitive. This was an expensive read for the information it has. Save your money

      kinda negative

as I was finishing reading I almost wanted to burn it. The way she writes everything kinda makes you not want to be pregnant. All the pain, bleeding, becoming not sexy and fat makes you feel depressed. I understand her pregnancy experience wasn't good. I love mine.

      A Waste

By Jennifer, a mother to be of 2

I read this book during my first pregnancy and found it to be disturbing and upsetting. It caused a great deal of anxiety. I would not have enjoyed reading it during my second pregnancy, but I would have known better than to take his author's drama and exaggerations as fact. I thought it was a terrible book for a first time mom.

This is a great book. I like the humor the author adds to unpleasant things like emontions, leg cramps, gas, etc...Very good book and I highly recommend reading for first time moms.

I loved this book, it had me laughing out loud! Not the only book you'll need, but still a must read. Vicki Iovine is so funny. This is a great read for any mom to be with a sense of humor.

      Have fun

By Lu, pregnant for the 2nd time

I don't like most pregnancy books because they only explain the medical reasons for everything, leaving the emotional side out of the picture. They are too impersonal. This book is the opposite, it's all about emotional support - how women FEEL about the pregnancy changes, with great humor!

      Fun gift to give!

      By Reenie, an expecting mom

I shared with my girlfriend that my husband and I were trying to conceive. A few weeks later she brought this book into work with her and I laughed. When I sat down to read it, I thought it was so fun. My husband ended up reading it with me and enjoyed it's insightfulness very much. Thanks Lynz!

      Gotta have it...

If you are pregnant (especially with your first, but also hysterical with any subsequent pregnancy), you HAVE to get this and read it. It is hysterical. Most of the medical stuff is accurate (I'm a L&D nurse, so I was looking for that!) and it's great for many laughs.

Loved it, and I'm a dr

      By Mom of 2

Really enjoyed this book's realistic, lighthearted take. I didn't agree with everything, but this is just one person's view. Definitely made me laugh, and made me take a little more of a relaxed approach. Not medical, but then again so many things in "what to expect" are just plain wrong, too.
