It would be great if it stuck to tables. I don't know if it's just a coincidence, but it seems like everywhere we go out to eat has wooden tables and this thing doesn't stick to wood, at all. It works pretty well on other materials, but i keep finding that most restaurants have wooden tables so it's doing me no good unfortunately.

We were given one of these mats about three years ago and have used it every day since. When the plastic started peeling from the middle- it was giving off a horribly toxic smell so I ordered two more. Unfortunately, I am less than impressed with the new ones. The plastic is harder and the suction cups don't stick to our table. My one year old basically plays with it like a toy and food goes flying everywhere! (I know this is pretty normal for a 1 year old but our first mat suctioned beautifully so our son couldn't pull it up). Overall, I think it's helpful to have as a food surface but I wish the cups suctioned better and the toxic off-gas smell was a bit concerning.

I love this placemat keeps my son from making a mess when were eating out.I just wish that it came in more colors and patterns!!!

Please make some different ones Summer infant these have been the same since my daughter was born in 2002!

We did not have much luck with this product. It was hard to get it to lay flat and adhere to the table well. Impossible to get it to lay flat on table types where the suction cups can't adhere at all.

Works great while dining out with our 11 month old. Love the multiple suction cups, it really sticks to the table well. The only time I have trouble with it is when we're at a round table (a couple suction cups don't stick) or if the table happens to be a rough surface, but that's no fault of the product. Easy to spray down & wipe clean. "Catcher" bucket saves a lot of mess from dropping on the floor for mom (or the waitstaff) to pick up. It rolls up nice & compact to stuff in the diaper bag, I'm loving the product after 2 weeks of use.

This is great for a toddler who is learning to use a spoon and messy foods. Rice and yogurt have been difficult and I just couldn't help myself from taking over and feeding him. With this placemat I can let him eat all by himself because the messes are caught in the scoop. I wish I'd known about this mat months ago!

We use this for our 9 month old and 2.5 yr old. This is great at home or out at a restuarant. We use it to protect our wooden dinning table and to make clean up easier. Just lift and dump scraps into the sink or trash and wash with water. At resturants it also protects the the kids hands from germs. And (if) you ever feel a little guilty that your kid makes a huge mess when eating out, this makes it easier for the bussers too.

I bought this because my 8 month old daughter was chewing on tables in restaurants which grossed me out! A friend of mine had the disposable stick on place mats which I thought were a great idea but I felt bad throwing them out every time, then I found this which is reusable and has a lip at the end that catches some of the flying food! It rolls up to fit in my diaper bag very easily. Great product!

We have a highchair without a tray and were looking for something to protect our table. Our son (13 months) loved to play with this mat, which created a constant struggle at mealtimes. We ended up getting the Piggy Platter, and it works great. I'm definitely not knocking the construction- this is a well made and durable product, and it might work when he is older.

We have a high chair that does not have a tray and encourages our daughter to eat at the table with us. This mat is perfect-- we use it for every meal. It washes off in the sink instantly, and the little trough works very well for catching food. When she's finished what is on the mat, she is sure to check the trough!
There are other, more pricey mats and trays for the non-tray style high chairs (our chair is a TrippTrap), but this is the way to go. Super easy and simple.

I have used this product almost every day for over a year now. It is very easy to clean and catches a lot of spills and messes. The only negative is that the suction cups that hold it to your table don't work very well.
