This is a great placemat! Its suction cups keep it in place unless your kids pull it up on purpose. It's very good for eating, sure, but also great for coloring before the meal! Paper placed on the mat won't slip around as the kids color!

It's large enough to cover their eating area, DW safe (top rack), though this can warp it temporarily (the creases will fall out over time). The crumb catcher is very helpful.

I see only two drawbacks: 1. limited choice of colors. I have our twins color-coded green and yellow, but only could buy green and blue for the boys. Recently I found a very old version in yellow. I wish they'd make yellow again, and maybe lavendar.

2. They don't stick to all surfaces well; they especially don't stick to formica, or slickly shellacked wood. But I find they stick well to everything else. Even the kids. :)

I couldn't take the twins to a restaurant without these placemats; they think plates are frisbees, and most restaurants use the same dirty cloth to "clean" their tables all day. Eating off that surface is not hygenic; so we use the tiny diner! I feel no pressure to force them to use plates before they're ready; twins' moms cut corners, and Tiny Diner Placemats make my life easier.

I always throw this item in my diaper bag whenever we are planning to eat out. My son has been using it ever since he could sit in a high chair at a restaurant. He loves eating his food off of it and it's easy to clean up with a baby wipe once he's done. I really like how it folds up too! The only problem I can think of is remembering to rinse it out when I get home for the next use. I've never put this in the dishwasher so it's kept up pretty well.

Every time we use it someone always asks where we got it! Great on-the-go product!

it didn't work for my 9 month boy. He literally chew the edge of the placemat and ate a little piece. :( it came all sides folded and never lay flat on the table. The scoop doesn't stay in shape so couldn't catch any food. it doesn't look like a picture on the website at all. check my pictures and don't waste your money!!!

I bought this placemat to extend the use of our tablecloths, however, it is way too small for a toddler to use. The picture shown looks twice the size of the actual placemat. Also, annoyingly, it comes with all sides folded to rest on the middle of the placemat creating huge creases which do not allow the placemat to lay flat. The only way to use it is to actually use the suction cups- which mean it cannot be used on a tablecloth. I can see how it would be useful while dining out but I wouldn't want to go through the trouble of carting it in and out of a diaper bag and then putting it away wet or covered in food. I am so disappointed in this product, I'd rather I didn't even spend the money to buy it.

This placemat is great for dining out and bringing along with you. The only downside is that on the box it says it is dishwasher safe on the top rack, but that is not true. At least not with my dishwasher. It came out all deformed after just one wash on the top rack. Better to stick with washing by hand.

We used to just use these on the go at restaurants, etc. Now we got a new table and don't want it all dinged up so we use the tinydiner at the kitchen table. It really catches a lot of items that would normally fall on the floor. It is easy to clean and doesn't leave tape residue on the new kitchen table like the disposable ones do. Really I can't think of one con for this item. A must have for home and the diaper bag.
