The picture is great but you have no control over the volume. The lowest setting is extremely LOUD and the static is horrible. We had the older model w/our 1st child and we were able to control the volume w/a dial and there was never any static. Also, the cord went after a year and now our visual is gone after 2 yrs.

When I saw that this product had only 1.5 star review rating I had to add a review, because I got this monitor as a gift and I absolutely love it, and have been using it for 2 months now.
The monitor works awesome! I have the camera part by his bed, and I move the tv part all over my house and the signal is perfect. During the day, when he's napping we would have the tv in the living room where we can keep an eye on him without going into the room. At night my husband has the tv next to his bed so he doesn't have to get out of bed constantly when he makes his little noises.
Besides getting this item, I would recommend getting BébéSounds Angelcare Movement Sensor w. Sound Monitor w. Two Parents' Units... This goes underneath his mattress and makes a ticking sound according to his heartbeat/breathing. So when he
stops breathing the machine will start beeping. The ticking after a few days you will become immune to the ticking, but you wont miss the beeping! So when I'm in the living room, I can also hear the ticking on the tv. So it's like an extra precaution for your baby.
After getting this the monitors, I'm pretty sure you will be able to sleep much much better!

The monitor is seriously a step back in technology. It's huge and bulky and provides a grainy b/w image with huge static accompaniment. We've replaced the camera twice in the year we've owned this system. It simply stops working after a few months.

Spend more on a higher quality product or else you'll just be spending it on replacements for this one.

When it comes to this video monitor, you definitely get what you pay for --- while the image on the screen is clear and easy to see (if you tune the video monitor correctly), the sound system is TERRIBLE! It picks up EVERY sound in the room, and comes across VERY loudly and is annoying - but if you turn the volume down to accomodate, then you can't hear the baby either.

Also, like a PP said - the monitor is bulky, and needs to be plugged in - which makes it difficult to use if you want to take it from room to room.

Bottom Line: Spend the extra $40-$50 and get a better one! It will definitely be worth it!

The picture on the video is great. However, when we moved out baby to his own room, we could not turn the audio part of the monitor on because even at its lowest setting it sounded like an airplane was landing in our room. The senor that pick up sound is too senstive. We had a space heater going on in the baby's room and it was so loud on our end.

We ended up getting a cheap audio monitor and using that at night along with the video.

Also the screen is huge, but you cant eaisly take it from one room to anther.

Next time I think we will look for a small screen.
