*When* it is working, its great. We loved it when we first got it. The problem is that it doesn't last. After a few months of use, the battery stopped charging which is super annoying since you had to keep the monitor on the charging base and could not take it with you around the house. So we replaced it, it worked fine and then the cord frayed and broke. I definitely would NOT buy this product again. I had to return it twice and i'm on the third one now. And the battery is starting to lose its charge again...argh.

We've had these cameras (one in each of the two kids' rooms) for about 6 months now, and they work very well. The small monitor unit has a good picture quality (both daytime and night-vision), decent battery life (we keep it on the charging base most of the time and keep the screen off to conserve battery when not on the charger), and the scan feature that automatically cycles through multiple cameras is awesome. The pan and zoom controls are easy to use and work well. We don't use the "talk to your baby" feature, but it is nice to have if you really want to try to soothe a child without going into the room. Overall great experience and would definitely buy this unit again if needed.

I don't usually write reviews, but I was really annoyed last week when this monitor broke on us, especially because my son had a double ear infection and I was concerned about him even more at night. This worked perfectly for us for 6 months, so on that I won't complain. A week ago it started saying "no signal" intermittently with the image popping in and out. I called Summer and went through all of the troubleshooting steps, none of which worked. The monitor was likely interfering with our wireless router or something else in the house. I couldn't deal with anymore troubleshooting and returned it today for the motorola, which promises no interference...crossing my fingers!

I purchased this product when my other Summer Infant died. After having the first monitor for two years with no issues I decided to try another one...And I was so excited when it arrived and I loved the look of the monitor and it had all of the functionc I was looking for...Unfortunetly there was alot of static noise, it drove me nuts! I returned it within a day.

Got this when we transitioned baby to her own room and crib at about 6 mos old. It worked well right out of the package, has a nice simple design that is easy to take along with you. The camera was nice in the middle of the night being able to check and see if that noise was an awake baby or just a dreaming/re-settling one.

After about a year we began to have minor issues with the monitor unit. If you accidentally left it off the charger to the point that it drained the battery, it was difficult to get it to turn back on again after charging (as a side note, in our experience, the claimed 10 hour battery life was more like 5 or so). It always did in the end, but you had to try more than a couple times before it would come back. Finally, this month it just died for good I think. The monitor is charged and turns on, the camera is on but the monitor will not pick up a signal from the camera, period. We've been trying for days and no luck.

I'm not too happy that, for the price, this system only lasted ~18 months but since we are pretty much past the point of needing a monitor it's not too big of a loss. I would be angry at the quality if I still really needed it though. (Another side note: in our experience the range was nowhere near the claimed 400', it was closer to about 100' before it would lose signal.)

This is the best camera by far. It has a large screen, it's not too bright when you look at it during the night, the night vision is amazing. I love the zoom, and scan the room feature, the talk back feature is so cool when I catch my little one climbing out of bed. The toch screen makes it simple to use. The images are so clear like watching tv even the night vision is amazing. I cant say enough about this camera I take the monitor outside with me when the baby is sleeping and I love the charging dock, I just set it down and go.

This was given to my husband and I as a gift in anticipation for the baby girl we'll be having in a few weeks. We currently have a 21 month old toddler so we decided to test it out with him in the meantime.

It has made such a huge difference for us when it comes to his nap times. The ability to talk to him remotely has been extremely useful - we can tell him to settle down and he seems to find it comforting so he'll comply. Being able to *see* what is going on in his room is extraordinarily comforting - rather than just hoping he's doing okay. Since we started using this monitor, we haven't had a single nap or bed time where he had to cry it out.

So far as the functionality of the monitor itself, we live in a 2-story duplex with the baby's room upstairs and we have had no issues what so ever with the signal, video, or sound quality no matter where we go in our home.

The rechargable battery in the monitor is awesome - it just lasts for hours and hours. We haven't had to test the battery life in the camera base, however (which is believe is not rechargeable, sadly) because the way we use it it's a simple matter for it to be plugged in.

I have yet to find any downside to this product (other than my one complaint that there's not a rechargeable battery for the camera base itself).

My husband and I fully intend to continue using this product with our toddler and buy a second camera for our newborn when the time comes - I wish I had known sooner how big a difference this would make - it's worth every cent! It certainly would have saved me a lot of headaches with my son's sleep training.

I really like the easy set up and use of this monitor! You just plug it in and there you go, great picture of baby. I am using it for my 3rd baby b/c she was early to roll over and was always getting stuck in her crib so I got great peace of mind by being able to take a quick peek without having to run up stairs or walk into her room if she was just fussing. It's easy to hear clearly and the video turns of after a few min to save the battery.

My only issue is the battery.... I thought I had a bad one so I sent it back and Diapers.com was AWESOME and sent out a new one immediately before I had to send the other back so I was not without a monitor:) GREAT customer service. However the same thing was happening with the new one (it was charged to 100% but then quickly lost the charge once unplugged) I called Summer Infant and they said I "over-charged" it the first time and needed just a new battery and it was here in 2 days, at no cost to me.

I really LOVE this monitor!!! Now if I can keep the battery charged:)

Came quick. Easy to set up. Works great! We have no trouble with interference of any kind. Our house is filled with electronic devices and a busy wireless network. The only thing I worry about is if/when I drop the monitor. I wish they had a case or some thing to protect the whole gadget. All I have seen so far is a screen protector.

I never write reviews but I LOVE LOVE LOVE this monitor! It works much like an i-touch and is super easy to use. The best feature is the remote movebale camera and zoom. This allows us to plop the camera down in front of any place she is sleeping and easily adjust its angle to see her. This is invaluable as she sleeps in 4 different places around the house during the day. We ordered it from Diapers.com because of their fabulous return policy in case of interference but there was none. The picutre is clear, the sound static is almost non existent for a baby monitor. This is saying alot as we have to turn the volume all the way to high because my daughter is extremely quiet I wish I had had this product for my first two children. It is absolutely worth the high price tag.

LOOK FOR OTHER VIDEO OPTIONS. I bought this before our second child was born in October and started using it right after he was born. Within 30 days, the video monitor screen just stopped working. The power light showed GREEN but the monitor would not turn on. I contacted the manufacturer and they sent me a replacement and label for me to return the defunct system. This was November last year.

Four months later and now the monitor (part of the new replacement system that was sent to me in November) is not working again. While plugged in, it turns off and doesn't recharge the battery.

So for the second time in just over four months, I do not have a functioning baby monitor for my infant son. I am awaiting to see what Summer Infant will tell me to do, but I just don't think it is worth this much hassle in four months.

the system halva nice design, monitor the size of I phone. Very convenient to remotely control the camera. However, after that the advantages are over.

Image is very grainy and not color but black and white. It looks like a TV reception with old antenna on old TV in cheap motel. Sorry but for the price it is not good at all. You cannot see if the baby is breathing or not, you can just see that there is something out there in the crib. Battery life is about 30 minutes off the charger.

The monitor stopped working after 2 weeks and would turn on for about 3 seconds and back off after that even if on charger.

So, we got the system because we thought that more expensive means better. Wrong, it does not work. The images On the box and in pictures are photoshop and they are very far from the system actually delivers.
