This was my first time giving this to my son he loved it. Since he was a baby he has loved squash and loves mac n cheese so I wasn't surprised that he loved this. Try it.

I agree with the other bad reviewer--and we microwaved it. Product was gloppy and mushy--nothing like the creamy, appealing picture on the box. Very greasy, too...bottom of the tray was shiny with it. My son ate about half, but was not excited or impressed with it. Would expect something better from this brand.

This instructions associated with this meal provide two alternative methods of cooking: (1) microwaving; and (2) immersing in hot (not boiling) water. We used the immersion in hot water method, so we can't speak to the consistency of the meal when microwaved, but when heated in hot water it is terrible. We ended up with a gloppy mess that, when tasted, was greasy and bland. Needless to say, we did not feed it to our child.

I am a big fan of the Sprout line of baby food. Although we usually make food for our toddler from scratch, it's nice to have a pre-made option on hand. My son loves the butternut squash mac and cheese - the pieces are big enough and the sauce thick enough that he can feed himself with his hands. I love that it's a little healthier than other pre-packaged mac and cheese. We taste-test everything we give our son, and this tastes like a bland mac and cheese - nothing off-putting about it.

It's easy to prepare and shelf-stable. It's a little pricey, but it's a nice, convenient alternative to cooking ourselves. I haven't found another brand on the market that uses such good ingredients.
