Comments about Sony Baby Call Nursery Monitor:

Very sensitive, picks up every noise. No interference with a different monitor in my home for my other child. Haven't tried all 27 channels yet...the first channel worked great.

Comments about Sony Baby Call Nursery Monitor:

The only reason I'm giving this monitor two stars instead of one is that it might be ok as long as you aren't trying to sleep in the room where the receiver is (ie -- it's not next to your bed). It makes these insanely annoying popping sounds constantly, which kept us up all night -- and also would often start hysterically making the "out of range" beep during the day, even when we hadn't moved it or the transponder. Our house is teeny, so it doesn't make sense that it could ever be out of range, anyway. Not recommended!

Comments about Sony Baby Call Nursery Monitor:

The distance from my room to my daughter's room is less than 30 feet in a STRAIGHT line. The monitor constantly gives off an out of range alarm, and in some cases it has taken upwards of 20 minutes to get the monitor base and receiver to recognize one another again. This happens a lot when my daughter is already sleeping; and the high pitched squeal that comes when you get the 2 pieces close enough to one another to reestablish the connection wakes her every time. I will be returning this monitor to Sony directly; along with a strongly worded letter regarding how utterly useless it actually is.

Comments about Sony Baby Call Nursery Monitor:

Had this monitor for almost a year now. I'm starting to get a really loud interference, which my husband says is from a cell phone though I've not proven that. Other than that it works fine. I keep it outside the room I need it in, because it's really sensitive to noise right next to it. However, it doesn't work well on noise down the hall. I've yet to find a monitor to compare to the one I first had that lasted almost 4 years until it died on me (and that one I kept in the hall and could hear both the baby and the toddler in two different rooms). The volume is really just way too loud or not at all, so it's hard to have it on loud enough to hear, but not scream at you. But its a fare price so far.

Great monitor for the price! Super simple to use and great range (3000 sq ft home). I will admit on occassion the rnage alarm does sound, but I simply move it one inch or two and it stops. I NEVER experience interference with my laptop, ipad, or iphone. Overall, I'm really pleased especially since I initially purchased a sensor pad monitor ($$$$$), and for the life of me I could not figure out how to work the darn thing. Love the simplicity of this one.

Range alarm goes off indefinitely even when close to the transmitter. Clear sound, can hear everything when it isn't beeping and flashing the range alarm. We live in an off the grid home and got this based on it's lower wattage - but that also means we don't have cell phone or other electromagnetic interference and still the range alarm goes wild even about 30' away. Would probably be a good monitor if you live in a tent next to another tent - I guess then you wouldn't need a monitor...

Comments about Sony Baby Call Nursery Monitor:

Nice and cheap, but does not cover our apartment (1300 sq ft) and keeps interfering with ipads, iphones, dect etc... you can't be on the phone while monitoring baby... Out of range signal beeps suddenly even if you haven't moved the monitor and above all it does NOT detect right away our baby's voice (yet yelling quite loud!) when on "Voice" function.
Needs to be on charge almost every 24 hours for a 3 hours a day utilization... We don't feel baby is safe with this product and are therefore very disappointed...

Range alarm randomly beeped throughout the night, waking us up. Only 30 feet from baby's room. Sometimes doesn't alarm at all when you are clearly out of range. No change in settings helped, so we finally decided it must be defective.

This monitor works well everywhere I've used it. From an apartment to across the entire length of an average sized home this monitor has good range and a clear signal. It sometimes beeps in certain spots but is fixed by simply moving it an inch in either direction. It is very easy to use. It runs on battery for about 72 hours before needing to recharge. It is also very sensitive so you can hear every little noise (even outside traffic going by) which is a feature I like since it almost acts like my eyes in the room. For a simple, non-frills device it gets the job done.

purchased this monitor to reach cross the house and yard to the pool, probably about 50 yards. TERRIBLE reception! not only does it not reach to the pool, it doesn't even reach through the house! the range alarm goes off if there is more than 1 wall between the base and reciever - close enough to hear baby without the monitor at all! I may as well throw it in the trash!

This baby monitor is horrible! I didn't get any sleep the whole time we used it. The range alarm beeps randomly when you don't touch the monitor or reciever at all (my son was only 2 rooms away!). I also experienced loud bursts of static ALL NIGHT. I tried almost all 27 channels, and I tried moving both the monitor and receiver to find a "sweet spot". The only good thing about this monitor was that I could hear my son breathing. We had to buy the angelcare monitor just so I could get some sleep! don't buy this!

I thought i did a pretty good job researching monitors when i picked this one, but was disappointed.

If the receiver is unplugged and the transmitter loses power the receiver will beep like crazy, but if the receiver is plugged in to charge and the power goes out it just shuts off with no warning!!! To prevent this from happening to me overnight again I charge the receiver during the day and leave it unplugged overnight, but I wouldn't ever buy this monitor again!

Plus the receiver randomly beeps that it is out of range all the time! Even when it is within 20ft of the transmitter.

Comments about Sony Baby Call Nursery Monitor:

We lost our simple hand-me-down monitor, so we bought this to use for our toddler once the new baby comes and we move the fancy monitor to his/her room.
It's fine for a good sleeper, either for naptime or overnight use. We tried the voice-activated option, but it was turning on constantly and our kid was sound asleep- do rustling sheets and breathing really activate this thing?
The sound is clear, even though there is background static. You can fool around with the 27 channels to try and reduce the static, but it's kind of a pain to sit there and go through all the combinations.
I like the ability to unplug the receiver and carry it around with me, although few monitors don't offer that option.
Annoyingly, it beeps when it thinks it's "out of range"... in fact it was just my hand moving in front of it! If you keep it a few feet from you while you're eating dinner or on the bed-side table, it seems to work fine. But, it definitely does not have the 900-foot range advertised on the box.
Overall it's very simple to use and seems like it will hold up well.
