I read several negative reviews of this product, but I decided to get it anyway. I just needed something to cushion my son's falls on our hardwood floors. I LOVE this mat! It is cute and totally serves the purpose. My son has managed to pull apart some of the pieces and use them as toys a few times, but that doesn't bother me. It is better than playing with the light sockets!

I purchased this playmat several years ago for my son. I really liked it so I ordered another one to fill more of the room up. Well they changed the design and the connectors are now larger and there are not the single connecters in the corners anymore. This picture is of the old set, they will mail you the new set, which is nice, however it will not connect with the old set. If you want to see what the new set actually looks like just check out skip hops page.

Comments about Playspot Green & Brown:

I bought this play mat for my 5 month old. She is rolling and scooting all over the place. She also lies on her back and picks up her head and then lets it fall, hitting her head on the hard floor. I bought this mat and put it together in 5min. I love the color, bright enough for baby, but subdued enough to look good in my home. The mat is soft for babies rolling and fumbling. It has light texture to it, which baby loves to feel with her hands. Baby rolls, scoots, and drools all over the mat and I dont worry about it since its not the hard floor/carpet I have in our living room. Also, it can be assembled to its largest size or smaller if you have a smaller space. Travle case means you could even take it to a hotel where you dont want baby necessarily rolling and licking the floor. I love this mat and will tell all my mama friends!

Comments about Playspot Blue & Gold:

I spent some of time researching playmats. Did you know foam mats were recalled in several countries in Europe but not here in the US due to a chemical called formamide? Skip Hop has one of the lowest detectable amounts of this chemical out of other mats on the market. If having my child safe means more money than so be it. This mat is very attractive and I recently got matching baskets for toys from the Land of Nod. I wipe it down once a week with a vinegar cleaner and after 4 monthly it still looks like new.

Comments about Playspot Green & Brown:

I bought this 2 years ago as the 'rug' for my baby's room. And I love it so much, I just bought another to expand it for my climbing toddler. Yes, it is easy to pull apart (but he can take apart the alphabet ones too...) and yes, like any rug you have to lift it up once and a while and vac it. It is very easy to clean, wipe, vac. It does not warp when it is sat on or played on.
My only dismay is that after two years they changed the shape of the connectors (better design), but now, I can't connect my two mats together. Still, so much better than the inexpensive mats I have, in my opinion.

                  Comments about Playspot Brights:

I kind of hate this product. It looks nice but there are too many parts to it, the kids take it apart, play with the parts, my 4 year old thinks it's a puzzle and my 14 month old just takes it apart and it turns into a huge stumbling mess and it's a pain to put back together. I prefer the large squares that stay put and don't get messed with, though this looks nicer and the colors are fun, it's a real pain and not easy to clean, has weird static and attracts all sorts on dust underneath it on the hard wood floor. Lastly, it's outrageous how expensive this thing is for what it is, you'd think they would include enough to cover the entire living room for that price!

I've had these in my living room for 3 years, and have had 2 sets. Those who say they are easy to clean have not had them very long! Sure, the surface wipes up well, but over a short time these accumulate a grimy film that no amount of scrubbing will remove. They also end up with lots of pits and divets. Don't even look underneath; every crumb collects under them, and they come apart fairly easily which is annoying. Also, if your kids don't see it as a giant puzzle to dissassemble, their guests will! On a plus note, they ARE thick and comfy for babies to sit on, and better looking than the ABC kind. I would have tossed mine except I couldnt think of another way to protect my child on the floor. I guess I would say that they serve the purpose to be comfy and cute, but are really annoying for mom to clean and keep together.

I love this playmat. We got it in the green and brown palette, and the colors work great with our living room decor. It's easy to put together, the foam is thick (about 3/4 inch), and best of all my 8 month old loves it! It is easy to clean, and doesn't warp at all when I sit on it and play with him. It is well worth the money, as I'm sure we'll keep this for years. We're going to buy another one today!

I was very excited when I first purchased this mat because not only did it look great in my living room but it would be a safe surface for my baby to play on. It worked great for the first week that I had it but it was all down hill from there. You cannot play with your child on the mat because the pieces will get warped and my 8 month old was able to pull the mat apart very easily. I am very disappointed with the stability of this mat especially considering the price. DO NOT WASTE YOUR MONEY ON THIS!

We had to replace our expensive baby rug because it shed large tumble weeds across the room. This mat matches our baby's room perfectly. If he spits up on it, clean up is an easy wipe away. There were a few mares on the foam, they do separate a little, but it is very durable to stand on, super soft if he bumps his head on it and much more affordable then a large rug!

I have this instead of a rug in my son's room. It's very attractive, the brown and blue colors are nice and match the decor of his room. It's very durable, easy to clean, and easy to put together. We've used it since he was an infant for tummy time and now for him to crawl around on or play with his cars or balls. It's very soft and smooth for him to play on and (again) easy to clean. I've had mine for over a year now, have had no problems with it, and continue to love it.

these are fun and sturdy. my baby just started sitting up and crawling a bit so i put these down over the wood flooring. it's soft enough so that if he falls over, he won't hit his head. we previously tried using a rug, but it made him itchy. this works great though. my husband also likes to sit on it and play around with the design.

I was so excited to get this mat- I like that it is non-toxic and can be used by babies of any age, as well as the fact that it looks better than most of the other mats out there. Also, I like the large size. However, it does not stay together as well as it should- if the baby is the only one on it, it is fine. But, if you want to join your little one, it slides around and the connector pieces get warped. (I used it on both carpet and hardwood floors.) Also, I set my son's bouncer on it for a few minutes one day and the indentations from the bouncer's feet are still there (a month later). It's not that it's a horrible mat, but for what you pay, it should be better. I have put it back in the bag it came in and do not see myself taking it out again- I feel like I wasted the money.
