These shells were a life saver during the first days of nursing. They gave my nipples a chance to air dry without irritation. As soon as my milk came in I started leaking and had to stop wearing these because the breast milk would come out the bottom or the air holes in the top when I bent over. Recommend washing in dishwasher before first use and every other day as the silicone has a funky smell and made my nipple taste funny to baby. I didn't have a problem as long as the shells were kept clean.

I wish I had known about these with my first son-these are such a great idea! They help to let your nipples breathe instead of being stuck in your bra with a breast pad that irritates your nipples after each feeding-these protect them and you can save the milk just keep dumping out the milk at least every hour or else it'll go bad. I think this is something that a mother who stays home can really use but if you're out it's just too difficult to use. Also if you bend over the milk will come out of the vent holes. And you cannot sleep in these for the same reasons the milk will spill all over you.

This product has been a lifesaver instead of buying all the nursing pads at the store I use this-it's been great and it's virtually undetectable under clothing. If you are nursing make sure you wear it on the other side while you nurse to collect the milk. The only negative would be because there are venting holes you need to be very careful when emptying it out also it's not too big so you cannot fill it more than 1 ounce of milk. But overall a great product my clothes are dry and my nipples are relieved!
