I use this as a supplement to the breastmilk I provide to the daycare facility. Before my son went to daycare, I tried it out a few times so that he would get used to it and get used to taking it in a bottle, but once the container is opened, you have to use it all within 3 days and since I was home all-day breastfeeding, I'd be forced to have someone give him a bottle of formula while I pumped or else I wouldn't finish up the bottle of formula and would have to throw it away. I guess I really just needed a smaller size container.

Never had a problem with the stuff. The recall for the powder was over precautionary. Will not actually summon the undead.

The best formula ever. My baby loves it and the ready-to-feed bottle is so convenient. I tried Enfamil and my baby's poop smelled horrible. With Similac he doesn't get constipation, no gas, and poop smell is totally manageable :)

I've used it for all three of my kids. We started with the powder, but the kids didn't hold it down as easy and it became time consuming to make the formula. Pre-made, you just pour it out and warm it up!

Our son was born at 37 weeks old. Due to my problems with breastfeeding, we needed to supplement to meet his needs. We started this formula at the hospital and continued it at home. I mix-in whatever small amount of breast milk I can pump and he has had no problems. At his first check-up, his doctor said "he's perfect" and gaining weight well. I highly recommend this product. The big bottles are great in the fridge and easy to use. Doesn't get any better...

I was able to wean my son off similac alimentum to this and he did amazing.. We tried enfamil premium and he cried all day and was full of painful gas.. Love the early shield, its the best!

Started supplementing at hospital and when BF didn't work because of no supply continued. He does not spit up when burps and has never been constipated on ready feed or the powder. Did not introduce powder form until 8 weeks and then primarily use it at night or in on the go form. Does stain clothing - apply stain spray and soak in cold water before wash. They do make the S A Extra Shield in the 4oz powder packets but don't carry them on diapers.com yet.

It took a while but finally I switched to this brand. When my son was born in May 2008 the hospital gave us the SImilac advance ready to feed. My son suffered from extremely bad gas and my husband and I didn't know what to do. In desperation on a rainy saturday evening, we switched to Similac Isomil advance (soy based). I thought maybe the lactose was a problem.. He stayed on that for about a month and then my doctor suggested to put him back on a milk based formula. I wanted to stay in the Similac family as my family and many others that I knew used it for years. It was just in time when Similac came out with Similac Advance Early Shield. We prayed and then my husband went to pick up about 3 bottles. My son did not suffer with the gas (as I was afraid from the experience I went through with the regular advance) and has not had any problems ever since. He is now 6 months and 2 weeks and we swear by this formula. We tried the powder but it gave my son gas so we stick with the ready to feed. We see alot of sales like 2 for [$] at [...] but it goes out of stock very fast. I thank God that Diapers.com has it now.[...] I coupled this formula with the Dr. Brown BPA Free bottles which I strongly recommend. Our Snug a Bug is truly satisfied (and so are we) Praise The Lord.

My son was started on this in the hospital and has been on it ever since. I love it! He loves it! When I got home I tried to put him on powder, but that did not agree with his stomach at all. He was fussy and constipated. I first changed his bottle from Avent to Dr. Brown and that helped him even though I am not breastfeeding. Then I switched to the RTF, and NO MORE PROBLEMS since. It is a littl more expensive in the long run, but well worth the extra pennies. My only complaint is that similac has not started making these in the disposable for on the go. I have to put him on the regular similac for when we are out and about.
