I bought this pail to use for cloth diapers, so haven't used it with bags. It is so easy to use! The step-opener makes it so we don't have to touch the wet diaper insert, we just take it off the baby and shake it in the pail. I have not had any issues with smell, even though I have not used any deodorizers. When it comes time to wash diapers (I wash every-other day,) I take the whole pail to the machine and dump it in and then rinse out the pail and allow it to air dry while my diapers are washing, and this seems to do the trick, although you could easily use some soap and dry it if you needed to use it right away.

Great product, I haven't noticed any smells yet. I bought 2 of these diaper pails and have really enjoyed them. The price is great! I also love the pedal feature that keeps this a hands free pail.

Registered for this and am very happy we got it. Why buy something huge and costly when this cheaper, little one does a great job? No smells and it uses regular 8 gallon bags. Now if only manufacturers would give us more options in the biodegradable bag department.

I bought this item because I didn't need something huge. It holds a good amount of diapers and is the perfect size for me.

The only problem I've had is that when I recieved it, the foot pedal kept slipping out every time I pressed down with my foot. I tried it all the different ways I could but it would happen every time.

However, rather than send it back, I just bought two little screws and attached them down the bottom to the pedal and that seems to have done the trick.

Overall - not bad, a good price, and I would buy it again.

I really like this pail. The only "con" is the lid lifter thing is in the way if you use a liner or bag. I just use a [...] bag, cut the handles at the seam, and then put each part of the handle over a corner and WaLa! I really do like this pail, it's a good size for what I want. I don't like leaving stinkies sitting around.

I bought one hesistantly because the other reviews state it is pretty small. Overall, I am very pleased with it. The pedal is soooo convenient and it keeps the stink in. We use cloth diapers which are pretty bulky, so it fills up quickly. However, we wash diapers every 2-3 days anyway because we don't want stinky cloth diapers sitting around any longer than that. The worst thing I found about the design is the pocket for the deodorizer is under the lid. We bought the "For every baby odor" (odor absorbing gel) recommended by a previous poster and the humidity from the diapers causes the gel to drip onto the diapers. So, that part is messy and less than optimal but I am going to continue to use it becuase it really does smell nicer than urine and poo. Overall, I do recommend this pail it is honestly quite cheap and is a good value. I bought a second one by the way to put my disposables, diaper liners with poo, and wipes in because as I said it does a good job of containing the stink.

Not to big not to small just the right size for a nursery. Love the deoderizer compartment I just added my favorite absorbing gel (Soap.com has a great one for babys room) and no odors. Lide snaps on to create a ceil and the foot operated lift system is very convienant. Thought the price was great for this wonderful product.

I purchased this product as a second diaper pail for cloth diapers in my work studio in my garden (away from house). It holds about 3 days of cloth diapers. No smell (newborn). I like everything about it except the foot pedal is on the smaller size...Im a size 9.5 and are generally wearing rubber rain boots in the studio..its hard to get my boot into the foot pedal area, but I still manage to do so & its not so bad that I would return this pail. I just rinse it with the garden hose now and again to keep it clean. It works perfectly for what I need it for. It a thick plastic, well made pail. No issues so far and I am on week 3.

Foot pedal is convenient but even with the deoderizer disks in the pail, has to be emptied every other day. For the cost might be better off getting a regular lidded garbage basket. Not so sure it's worth the price. Pretty sticky if I do say so myself.
