Easy to install, secure and easy to use. My three year ols can use this and get to the bathroom in time. My eleven month old cant get in and stays safe. Great product.

You need to look for toilet seats with good clearance between the seat and the hinges. I installed 2 Church molded wood seats today (with the easy clean hinges) and they work PERFECTLY with this lock. I couldn't be happier. Now I get the sleek look and ease of use of these locks with none of the issues.

The seats stay up. They lock down (fairly) tight. Sure if you really try you can raise the seat an inch or two but you are always going to get that with a lock at the rear of an oval toilet seat. And without turning this into too much of a commercial for the Church seats, they have one with a toddler seat built in.

So bottom line is - this is a GREAT toilet lock, but you may have to change out your toilet seat to make it work to its full potential.

This toilet lock is SO close to being the BEST product on the market, except for one critical flaw that makes it nearly un-usable. More details below.

The Good: This toilet lock function works extremely well. It clamps the toilet seat down very nicely, very sturdily. It's adjustable for different seat thickness, it has a nice rubber stopper that gives a high-quality aplomb when it's clamped down. The design is a great concept, it's attractive, it doesn't use messy adhesives, it doesn't touch the toilet bowl or toilet lip. The lever raises & lowers nicely, smoothly, easily. It doesn't force you or your guests to get all touchy feely with the toilet seat like other designs. It can be conveniently left open for guests or during those times when you know your kids won't be in the bathroom. Ohhhh, how I wish I could just stop here. It's almost perfect. Except....

The Bad: The clamp lever is just too thick. When moved to the UP position, it doesn't allow enough clearance behind the seat. So the toilet seat won't stay up on its own. The toilet lid barely stays up, and the toilet seat most definitely does not stay up. The seat just doesn't have enough clearance to lean backwards against the tank like it should. I'm incredulous that the designer overlooked this. Why didn't they they just make this lever a half-inch thinner? I can't imagine what toilet seat they used during the Testing and QA process that prompted the designer to say "Yup, that works just like I planned. Ship it, boss." A very simple design change would make this a PERFECT product. Just make the lever thinner!! A freakin' half-inch thinner!!

So, unless you're okay with a seat that doesn't stay up, unless you're cool with the toilet lid splaying against your back (ladies) or enjoy holding the toilet seat up with your left hand (gentlemen), then you shouldn't buy this product.

A nearly perfect product has been rendered un-usable by a simple half-inch design flaw. I'd pay $100.00 for a metal version that was thinner.

I just had a plumber install one (since he was here anyway fishing out a spoon that my 12 month old flushed down), so that I would know how to install the rest. At first the toilet seat did not open all the way, per some of the other reviews. Then the plumber said "let me see if there is some play in the screw holes. Maybe if it's slightly farther back the seat will stay up." It worked! The other idea I had: just add dots of velcro to keep the seat up for the boys.

Fantastic product!!!! I have a 19 mo. old "Houdini". Who has been escaping and getting into EVERYTHING since he was 7 mo. old so I purchased this toilet lock in hopes of just having enough time to get to him before he got into the water. So I alone set this up (no hubby required) and lo and behold he has yet to get into the water. The only disappointing thing is that I had to get a hard seat because my soft one was to thick.

Would be easy to use if it allowed more than 1cm for my toliet seat to stay up. Needs to be redesigned so that it can be used with different types of toliets. I have 3 different types in my house and it didn't work with any of them. The lid only would go 3/4 of the way up and would fall back down.

If your toilet seat attachment holes are flush or not set significantly away from the back of the seat, there is no way this good looking lock will work for you. save you time and money.
If the attachment point sticks out 2-3 inches behind the back of the seat, then this lock MIGHT work for you depending on how thick the lid is.

This is the best toilet lock. It is easy to install, fits all toilets, and it not awful to look at. It works great.

This is great. I love that it can sit upright when you don't need to lock the lid, and when it's down it definitely keeps the lid from opening. Now if only this company can find a way to stop my 17 month old from flushing the toilet over and over again!

Does not work on any of the three styles of toilets in our home. Unless the seat thickness is very thin the lid will not stay open for the boys to go. Husband took them all off.

This toilet lock is awesome. After using varying hard to use locks at friends houses I knew I wanted something different. Super easy to install and use plus it doesn't look obnoxious. Highly Recommend!

The unit is a bit difficult to install but it works very well.
