These have provided me with peace of mind. I've got 1 year old twins and a 2 year old. They are in to everything. I've got the Door Locks on my kids bathrooms doors that way I know they are not in there during nap time playing and eating soap. I've also got one on my kitchen pantry because there's no way to lock it and I was tired of them helping themselves to whatever they wanted. I've got one on the door to my sewing room so that I don't have to put an actual lock on it. And, I've got one ready to install on the twins door as they are starting to climb out of their cribs and I'm worried they will wander the house in the middle of the night. I love that these are super easy to install. I did it all with the tool provided. They are easy for older children and adults to get in out of the room. And, it's not permanent. So, eventually, they will be quickly and easily removed.

I installed it correctly and it didn't even work. On my first test in opening the door, the door just opened as it normally does. The lock didn't catch. I've never had any good products from this company, unfortunately.

It was hard to get it to fit the door. This will not fit on all doors. It does fit the outside door to the yard! This would be great for dogs/cats that know how to open doors. This can be installed at any height and easy to change. I always like that I can leave it unlocked when I don't need it.

I don't know if mine was defective but I couldn't tighten it enough to fit on my door. It comes with a Allen Wrench and when I tighten it the inside slowly slips and doens't let me tighten it any further. Doesn't fit. Also, I agree with another review, it's large.

We have the plastic doorknob covers, but my 1 year old son can take it apart very easily. He has now learned how to open doors so we needed something that he cannot reach. I thought this item would be perfect and I love that I don't need to do anything permanent like screwing it in or anything. Unfortunately it doesn't fit most of my doors. It only fit 1 of them. This product would be great if it actually fit. They need to change their design.

Very quick easy install as stated. Super easy to make "in use" by just flipping it out. When not in use it lies against the door and does not hinder the door from closing. Great for keeping toddler in or out of a room.

It is supposed to fit around the edge of the door, but if your door fits closely in the jamb then the door will not be able to close with this item attached. In addition, the picture made it appear white and not all that large, but in fact it is off-white and quite large. We had to return it.

Product was easy to install and will be easy to remove with no holes, etc. Very strong and will definitely keep my crawler out of the closet where I keep cleaning supplies.

I purchased this product after watching my one year old tinkering with doorknobs. He also likes to play peek a boo behind doors and cries when he closes himself in.
Like the other reviews you must have a 90 degree angle for this to latch to. We had no problem with our doors or the installation. I was however, surprised by the size- it was larger than I had expected.
Although I love it now, I was frustrated when looking at the directions and learning how it worked I realized there was not an option to keep the door completely closed. If you child opens the door the door will open about 2 inches, and won't close again - as the 'no finger pinch guard' activates.
It is very easy to disengage and doesn't mark or leave indentions on the door molding.
Love it! It's worth every penny! Especially having friends with the door knob covers, and children that can take them off faster than me!

This is the best door lock I've found! I've got no patience for the ones that go over the door handles. This one you can keep engaged, fold it back for when the kids are in bed, or engage the "no finger pinch mode"--all easily! Easy to install and use. I keep it out of the "finger pinch mode" so my 1 1/2 year old can open and close the door to his heart's content, yet he can't get into the bathroom to play in the toilet. I highly recommend it!

This took 2 minutes to install and really works great! It keeps the door open about 2 inches, so our toddler can't slam the door shut on his fingers or get through to the basement stairs. Great product.

This door lock is great! Sturdy design, won't pinch fingers, keeps my toddler contained in the bathroom with me while I take a shower. But I do have a word of caution for those of you with small animals in the house. When the lock is in use, it provides just enough space for my very thin cat to squeeze through. This is only a problem when my toddler leans in on the door an tries to shut the cat out, with the cat's body, or head, still inside. I plan to solve this problem by shutting the cat in a separate room during my shower time, so that my baby who will be in the bathroom with me does not injure the cat's head, neck, or body when I am not able to intervene. Great lock though! Very happy with my purchase!

I was a little confused by the reviews saying this would not work on some doors. I ordered one to try out. First of all, if this will work on your doors, it's great. Children cannot defeat it, as it is out of their reach. Some might find it a little big or unsightly, but it definitely does the job. Installation was easy, and it has a removeable piece is case your doors are thicker than normal.

In order to know if it will work for you before ordering, you need to check two things. The first is what the other reviewers have been talking about. When you close your door, it closes up against a thin piece of wood, known as the stop. The side of the stop the door closes against is flat. If the opposite side of the stop is also flat, then this product will work for you. If the opposite side is instead a decorative rounded shape, then this will NOT work. It needs a flat side to catch against, a rounded side will cause it to slip off. The second thing to check before ordering is the gap around your door. This item has a thin metal band that wraps around your door. When your door is closed, there need to be at least a little gap between the door and the jamb (the side of the door frame) for that metal band to fit in. If your door closes tightly against the jamb then this product will likely not work for you. Typically it would be exterior doors that fit more tightly, so check first.

We have a 3 year old that can undo most door knob covers and now an 11 month old that we need to keep off of the stairs. This is perfect. The 3 year old can't reach it but we can easily navigate our 3 level house. It latches behind you as you close the door which is wonderful when you have full hands. It can also has a feature where you can disengage the lock which is great for times when we are entertaining friends. Purchasing 3 more. We didn't have a problem with this fitting or working on our doors like other people.
