It works better than I expected. You do need to know what you are looking at. I would suggest looking at pictures on the internet. I have chronic ear damage and wanted to watch my children closely and save on trips to the doctor.

After many recurring ear infections in my son's (14 months old) ears, I bought this ear scope. I took it with us to my son's pediatrician so he could show me what to look for to gauge the urgency of a visit to the doctor. He said that even the smallest ear piece is too big to get past the bend in my son's ear canal, so it is not possible to see the ear drum. He also said that the light color is completely wrong so you wouldn't be able to see any redness associated with an infection. This ear scope is now my son's new favorite toy since it is useless as an actual ear scope. It's possible that it might be useful for adults or older kids with larger ears/ear canals, but it is not useful on infants or toddlers.

This product works great. The view is clear and it's easy to use. There is really not that much to say about this product but that it shows clear picture of the inside of your baby's ears. I do have to compare from what I see in my baby's ears to the pictures of infected ears. So if this product would actually detect infections, I'd give it a 5-star.
