I bought 3 of them for my living room entertainment center will be buying more! I happen to have a custom made wall unit and the doors that it came with are 1 1/2" in width, so to make the locks fit I had to ask my hubby to take the doors downstairs to trim the inside of the door! He was ok with that cause he never really liked the unit n the first place but he got good practice for other doors that we have to do next! I really like it tho because it is severely child proof but parent friends! So be aware that if your cabinet doors are a width bigger then 1/2" these will not fit and you will have to adjust the width of just the spot that it has to scre in to! The best part about this lock even tho I had to deface the back of the cabinet door is there are no reason why you would have to deface the ront of the door by putting screws into it like some of them out there! If you have modern day cabinets don't worry they will fit but you might have to take a tape measure to see what the width is of your cabinet doors if they were made in the 90s or earlier.

We have some sink doors which have no handles and don't have sufficient cabinet face behind to use normal cabinet door latches. For these, this option works. It's not very attractive, it's expensive, and it doesn't close the door completely. (It can be opened almost an inch). It meets our need for securing the kitchen sink where we keep cleaning chemicals.

Installed this on the cupboards leading to our garbage can and compost bin AFTER trying the Kidco Spring Action Lock and the Safety 1st Push and Snap Lock (both sold at Diapers.com) and I LOVE IT. The first mentioned did not work on our style cupboard doors and the second mentioned was just impossible to open one-handed, not to mention a pain considering this cupboard is accessed A LOT. For now, this lock keeps my 14 month old out. I imagine she will eventually catch on b/c it's quite easy to operate but the here and now is all I care about at this point. I also like this device as it leaves no damage to the outer surface of the door.

While I would give this product 5 stars for ease of installation and design, this is not something to get if you want to lock something up from your toddler. My 2.5 yr old son figured it out within a day or so. We were looking for a lock for the kitchen cabinet under the sink where we keep some cleaning supplies. My son was never even interested in the cabinet, but we didn't want to take any chances. As soon as we put the lock on, he wanted to figure it out. He now just goes up to it and opens it as if he were the adult. I am disappointed, since it was pretty expensive. This would be great for a younger child, but then again, you don't really need something this sophisticated for younger kids. I would not recommend it unless you have a 1 yr old.

I love this cabinet lock. I read a lot of reviews trying to find a sleek lock that would work on cabinet doors that meet in the middle. This was very easy to install- even with one eye on an active toddler while I did it it only took 10 mins. It just slides on the door- 1 on each side- and then screw it in to tighten and done! My toddler tried it a couple of times and gave up.

I wanted a good lock for the cabinet beneath the kitchen sink, but I didn't want to scratch up the doors. This lock did just that, but the space between the doors was a little too small so when the lock was installed it pushed the cabinets doors apart. It would be fine if you could adjust the hinges to make the doors a bit wider, but unfortunately mine do not. I'm going to try the lock on some other cabinet as LO grows and starts getting into more things.

this lock is so simple to put on, all you gotta do is screw on two screws with a screw driver from the inside of the cabinet and your done, its so neat and simple to open but difficult for your baby.it did fit very tight on my cabinet so be carefull if u have thick doors. I love the fact that the doors stay closed quit tightly not like the others that my baby can stick her fingers through and pull out small objects. this lock does stick out a bit like an inch or two but it doesnt bother me, for me this was the perfect choice EASY AND SAFE........

Great product. I put it in my bathroom and didn't even need to use the screws. I tightened it up and placed it right above the nobs to make sure it doesn't move. Works fast and is very secure. The only down side is I wanted to use one in the Kitchen as well but it didn't open up wide enough to fit those cabinets.
