      Comments about Multi-Purpose Appliance Latch:

The first refridge lock I got broke in less than a month, but this one is great!

My favortie thing is that I don't always have to lock the refridge! When my toddler is acting up I can lock it. But when he is occupied and I'm cooking dinner I can leave it unlocked.

Keep in mind that it doesn't lock itself when you close the door, so maybe that is a deal breaker for your family.

        Comments about Multi-Purpose Appliance Latch:

I like these locks a lot. They stick very well (I've even removed and re-stuck a couple and the adhesive is still pretty strong).

The babies can figure them out if they see you using them, yes. My twins worked one on my desk drawer when they were quite young after they watched me open it. In spite of that, I think the product works as indicated and is very strong, so I'm giving 5 stars.

I actually used one on one of my oven doors because it's all I had handy. The clip part was around the side of the oven and because I never let them see me operate it—thus drawing no attention to it—the babies never opened it. It holds great when they *yank* on the oven door repeatedly. I use my oven A LOT and these withstand the heat. I'm pretty sure, however, that this lock is not intended for ovens officially. I have moved it so that the clip is on the front now out of necessity—we installed cabinets around the oven and I can no longer reach the side to unclip. We'll see how this goes. No other style of appliance clip is going to fit with the narrow gap, so I'm buying more in case I've worn out the adhesive from moving these.

        Confused About Positive Reviews

          Comments about Multi-Purpose Appliance Latch:

I am baffled by the positive reviews for this product. The problem isn't just that the adhesive doesn't stick to whatever surface you are using it on, it doesn't even stay stuck on its own strap! In less than 2 days, the plastic strap peeled away from the adhesive. It was a cheap product, and I got what I paid for. Will be trying something else...

I have other latches similar on a desk, and they were great. This one I installed backwards and when my son pulled on his dresser drawers they broke. Make sure to put them on the correct way so when they are pulled on, they won't break the plastic pieces.

I've had three of these now, thinking that maybe I just got bad ones the first time around. Guess I was wrong. They just don't work. With the first one, it was off my frig within days, the second one as well. The third one I bought to latch the drawer on my oven and it didn't even last a day! Yes I followed the directions and made sure everything was clean and dry before applying. This was a HUGE waste of money!

I bought one of these to use on my dishwasher which my toddler can now easily open. The adhesive came off the strap immediately! Now I have this sticky adhesive to my cabinet and the buckle part stuck to my dishwasher. What a waste.

                      Comments about Multi-Purpose Appliance Latch:

I stuck this lock onto our kitchen garbage can. It's one with a flip lid and foot pedal and it works just fine. My son loves to pull himself up onto everything and this lock keeps him out of the trash. It's nothing fancy and he'll probably figure it out when he gets older (just push the button and slide it out), but it does the job and the price is right. When he's not around, I just leave it unlocked and it doesn't cause any trouble. The adhesive is pretty strong and I wouldn't put it on surfaces that could be damaged easily (ie. wood, paint, etc) because it may be difficult to remove.

Great for latching doors/drawers that can not have safety features installed. Sticks on but does eventually lose stickiness and/or plastic holder can wear out (we are replacing an original) but it is effective but not incredibly durable.

                          Comments about Multi-Purpose Appliance Latch:

This works great for anything in the kitchen. I use it for the drawer I keep my sharp items in and for the slide out garbage drawer. It's also the only thing I could find that would keep my toddler out my entertainment center that has glass doors and no wooden frame. I found out the hard way that I needed the extra length of the strap. My kitchen drawers are not flush with the side of the cabinet so I have some angle latches that are useless. The clasp is really easy too. It doesn't take two hands and a mighty grip to open! Plus I can just stick it on and it doesn't budge. Just be careful not to pull the strap too tight before sticking it on,so it is easier to close the clasp. Of course I'll be using for my appliances when my daughter is a little older. I think I am going to use it for my toilet lids next! FYI..I had to remove and readjust one and it wasn't easy which I consider a good thing. It also didn't hurt my painted cabinets at all.
