if i had read the reviews, i would have thought to look at my outlets first to determine whether or not they have a middle screw or two (one on top and one on bottom). because my outlets all have 2 screws, these were completely useless in my house. for [$], i didn't see the point of shipping them back. oh, well.

I have two of these. Even though they are not the best i am pretty happy with them , there are a few stuff that u need to know before u buy them, 1- outlet needs a hole in the center
2-they fit only the standard small sized outlet
3-only standard small plugs will fit(no square or bulky cell phone chargers)
4-its pretty hard to open but if u crack off the top little piece its perfect

These do require your outlets to have the middle screw. I needed them for my everyday plugs- our home is older and the bedrooms don't have ceiling lights, which requires us to use the outlets for lighs. Our children are 5, 3 1/2 and 2- so none of them can have access to the outlets when they have something plugged in.
I am also using them downstairs for outlets that aren't usually used- but now that I'm putting up Christmas decorations and lights, the outlets have cords in them and need to be covered!
They do they job if they fit your outlets.

First of all, I couldn't even use this because you must install it using the middle screw of the outlet cover. I don't even have a middle screw on my outlet covers (only top and bottom). I'm in a newer home but it's not like I have unusual outlet covers--it's faulty planning on the manufacturer's part. Second, and probably equally important, these plug covers are too narrow to fit my cell phone charger, Blackberry charger...even the baby monitor plug! Lastly, they are extremely difficult to open. It took two adults tugging on it to get it to open. Overall, it's a totally useless product that was very poorly designed!! I would give it zero stars if I could.

These are impossible to install. I had to have someone help me to take the top off and even they could not do it. We practically broke it trying to get the top off to screw it to the outlet. It seems like a good idea and of practical use, but the intent should not be for the adult to not be able to use the item. Overall- worthless.

I purchased three versions of outlet covers hoping one would work well for each of our intended uses. The main one I was concerned about was a computer surge protector cord (it's round and thick, not a typical skinny cord). It needs to be plugged in all the time and it's in an exposed outlet. The Safety 1st 2-pack Outlet covers were WAY too hard to open for an adult and also did not accomodate anything other than a tiny cord.
