My son (20mo) thought it was a toy, b/c it spins and he just wanted to play with it more!!! He would tug on it, and was able to eventually open the knob cover.

These covers work as advertised, but I found them to be fairly pointless. While our 1-year-old couldn't turn on the stove, he could remove the cover and knob together.

What we had difficulty with was using the stove with them on. We quickly decided to simply remove the knobs when we're not using the stove and that works much better.

Because of it's design I cannot use the knobs. The extra distance caused by the back of cover, the knob cannot reach and fit into the holes that enable user to turn the knob.

I think it's a great idea! So much better than having to remove the knobs. I think the cover was deisigned for newer stoves (my stove is 10 years old).

My 20 month old can open these with ease. It took him about a month or two but he's got them figured out. They still slow him down a bit but they definitely don't prevent him from turning the burners on.

They work great, I've had them on my stove for a little over a year now. I am sort of bummed that one of the knob protectors broke though. I was simply cleaning with a antibacterial wipe and the plastic hinge snapped and the cover fell off. It's a great design, my daughter can't figure it out, it's just the parts are a little cheap.

Our 11 month old grandson was able to remove these the first time he saw them. At first I thought that maybe I hadn't closed them securely, but even after I double checked, he was able to get them off in only seconds. I sent them back.

These work pretty well until your kiddo is strong enough to pull them off knob and all. With that in mind make sure your knobs are secure after applying this product

These knob covers are the best I can find. My child is unable to get them open. The only difficulty is that they melt over time because of the heat of the oven. I keep extras on hand.

I think some people are missing the intent of this product. It is supposed to keep your children from blowing up and/or gassing your house. And it does. Very well. I can understand the it not fitting issue, luckily mine fit. But the "it pulls off" issue is actually what you should want. That way said toddler can't blow up your house. Mine tried, so I bought these. Now she's given up and decided to listen when we tell her to stay away. We bought a new house when my daughter was 2 1/2, one week before her sister was born. Our previous home had an electric stove with knobs out of reach, so these knobs were novel. My daughter managed to turn the gas AND FLAME on without us knowing. These prevent that. If she pulls a knob and cover off (which she hasn't), all that's left is the post she can't turn. I would rather look for a knob that the alternative. So glad I bought these!

I purchased these to keep our 19 month old away from the stove knobs but I quickly had to return it. The instructions call for you to remove the stove knobs from the stove which proved rather difficult on my stove. I also live in a rental apt and was not willing to uninstall or break stove knobs on a stove I don't own. Totally disappointed.

Our stove has the knobs on the front, so my daughter can reach them. I wanted something to cover them just as an extra layer of safety in the kitchen. I was excited to find these, but unfortunately, they do not fit securely. I'm not sure what kind of knob they will work on, since we have a pretty standard stove that's only a couple of years old, but when we put them over the knobs, they just hang there, and can easily be pulled off, taking the knob with them. There is no way to secure them tightly so they cannot be removed by a child. The good news is that diapers.com took them back and gave us a refund very quickly...they even pay for the return shipping!

These knob covers are super easy to install and are not annoying to open and close for an adult. My 15 month old didn't turn on our stove (needs to push and turn), but would walk by if it was on and switch it higher or off. These do the job in preventing that. A determined 2 year old would probably get these covers opened, but for my 15 month old who is just randomly figiting with things - it does the job!

This was so easy to install and it does the job. My son isnt so insistant on turning on the stove (he is 15 months) but he would walk by while I was cooking and turn up the flame or turn it off. It just needs a little squeeze and pull to open so its not a hassle for adults. A 3 year old or a very persistant two year old may get it open but its great for little ones who are just figiting with things.
