The key to making this work is to use a little alcohol to clean the surface before applying the adhesive. And do let it cure for 24 hours. Also, another reviewer noted that you need to measure the length of the strap before closing the latch. I found that recommendation very helpful.

I got these to keep my son out of the drawer on our media center unit. I don't go in it every day so the latch doesn't get opened often. Seems to do the job. Keeps him from opening the drawer and pulling everything out, or pinching his fingers and those are my main concerns. It is easy for an adult to open but would take a child a lot of skill to get it open. Only issue I have with it is, the backing is very very sticky, which is good because it holds to the unit well. Just hoping it won't take the finish off our media unit when we get to the age where we can remove it.

Used these straps on kitchen drawers, doors and oven door. Works well and easy (for adults) to unlock. Can be unlocked with one hand; which is handy when you have things in the other hand. Keeps the curious baby out of drawers and doesn't allow the drawers/doors to open, even a little, therefore no smashed fingers. Very easy to "install". Just measure, peel and stick. Only wish the straps came in other colors (cabinets are black, so the white straps really stand out).

I used 4 these to secure my son's dresser drawers. Two of them have already fallen off because the adhesive is not sticky enough.

I use these straps on my trash cans so that my dog doesn't get into garbage. They work great, are easy to use, and are quite durable.

IMPORTANT NOTE: make sure you READ the directions first! One of the pieces cannot be unsnapped once you've shut it, and if you shut it too soon, you've wasted the strap.

this product works much better for us than safety catches - no drilling and our 1.5 yr old daughter ripped the safety catches out with her forceful opening of drawers. we've used it for the oven door, drawers and even our bedroom door! a bit of an eyesore since it's not concealed but at this point safety is the top priority

It's simple to install and did help a lot to seal the kitchen cabinets from my curios 10 month old daughter. the best part I like about this is adhesive based awhile most other cabinet locks required some drilling. This can also be easily removed without damaging the wood. It's quite cheap at Diapers.com compared to other stores.

This was a complete waste. I bought the product as more of a deterrent, but it wasn't, even good enough for that. I followed the instructions, wipe cleaned the surface before sticking it on, and the Straps still came off.The main problem is the sticky part.It's just not effective. It's a good idea, but the part that sticks to the surface just doesn't work. My child is one, and with one hand he pulled the plastic knob right off the sticky. Sticky piece was still attached to surface, so just one more thing I now need to scrape off.

It is a good product design overall, but when I tried to stick it to my garbage can, it did not stay. It was hardly sticky at all!
