It was useful for the first time I used it, however, I went in to use it about a month later, and either the battery has died, or it just froze up.
In either case, a ONE USE thermometer is useless.

I'm not one to write reviews, but am going out of my way to comment on this. I've been through a few thermometers for my infant and toddler. This one is the best I've found. Easy to use, accurate, gives an adjustment (+/- 0.9) for tushie versus armpit temps. And it reads every time in 8 seconds or less. Every second you need to hold a thermometer in place is a challenge, so fast reading is a major selling point. And it's durable; standing up to my toddler grabbing and throwing it.
