This product was extremely hard to install. Instructions were not very clear. The bottom portion needs to stick out while the top portion is flat against the top of the mattress. You MUST have a box spring! We tried to install it with out, it didn't work. The slats that go between the mattress and box spring never stayed in place. It doesn't completely slide all the way in between the mattress and box spring. Extremely hard to do. Broke after two weeks! Returned back to Diapers.com

Ridiculously difficult to put together and doesn't allow the mattress to lie even remotely flat. I purchased it for the length rather than the "hide away" feature" which was my big mistake. I'm really unhappy with this purchase. Fortunately, kids eventually learn how to stay in bed so this isn't a forever thing.

It took two of us to put it together The instructions aren't very easy to understand but we got it done
We have a gate from the same company and it is as sturdy as the gate.
My son has been leaning on it and pushing it and soo far soo good i would tell my friends to get this
BUT the style of bed we have we are unable to use the hideaway feature but it helps keep the kids off the bed during playtime

The rails work excellent in keeping your toddler secure in bed A+ rating. However the drop down feature is a pain in the butt and takes sometime and can not be done one handed, so it not fast and easy to drop down and up.

The pullout knobs used to collapse and fold the frame under the mattress are of poor quality. The design was smart but the metal of the frame is weak and the knobs get stuck when pulling out and pushing in to lock. Not to mention the architectual engineering degree needed to assemble the unit.

It took about 30 minutes to put together even with 21 month old daughter taking parts and running away with them. Took daybed apart, put bed rail on base, put bed back together and popped rail up. Works like a charm and I feel much more comfortable about her not being in the crib. The only issue I have is that the little knobs to lock rail in place are a bit difficult to release if you want to push rail under mattress, for hiding purposes. [@] has the same bed rail and is rated higher on their site but their return policy is atrocious.

this product is really bad. the first one that arrived was missing 2 parts. once i put together the second one, which Diapers.com shipped to me in advance so i was covered at least for 24hs, it worked well 3 nights. the screws which are THE security locks, never never lock properly, either one or the other side locks well. i spend at least 10 minutes trying to lock it every night, i almost break into a sweat! I will call the manufactures to get a refund, i almost want to go back the old method of pillows.

This bedrail is perfect for my son! I search for hours online to find a bedrail that was affordable, well made, had great reviews and could be easily stored and bought this one. The bedrail was a little tough to set up at first but still took about 20mins. This is the only bedrail I found online that will slide under the mattress out of sight. My son does not like the idea of have a bedrail so this is the perfect situation for us. It has been much easier to change the sheets and make the bed then the pervious bedrail. It also has held up very well. My son can sometime get a little excited and knock the bedrail around pretty good but it has not budged. I have already recommend this bedrail to all of my friends. Five stars!
