Comments about Easy Diner Portable Hook On Highchair - Navy:

Ordered 2 for our 10 month old twins to use at grandparents and other travel. Really liked the price considering we always have to buy a set of two--- was less expensive than one of the similar seats on this site. The PROs: price, sturdiness, collapsibility (comes apart to be completely flat and fits into included travel bag). CONS: connecting to table (will describe below) and area for child to sit seems very close to table (our girls ate small so this is not a problem for us but I would imagine that larger babies would grow out of this earlier due to their body shape rather than getting too heavy). We were able to finally manage to connect this to my parents kitchen table that has a standard lip only because we were able to slide the parts on through the leaf opening. If there had not been an area to open the table for a leaf this product would have only worked on the dining room table which has no lip. Shipping is fast and returns are so easy that I recommend trying the product for yourself because if you can get it on your table the price is just too good yo pass up. Pretty easy to clean, just wipe down with a damp cloth.

Very happy I gave it a chance...

Comments about Easy Diner Portable Hook On Highchair - Navy:

I was weary about buying this chair based on so many reviews about it not fitting tables with aprons, but with my budget and the excellent return policy Diapers.com has I decided to at least give it a chance and I am glad I did.

Initial assembly of the chair (and it is very simple) went smoothly and exactly as the instructions explained.

I have a table with a 3/4" top and a 3"long/3/4"thick apron. The front side of the apron is set back 1 1/2" from the edge of the table top. I installed the chair on this table and was successful. Having rubber grips on the ends of metal brackets are necessary, but made it a little difficult to "slide" on. It took some maneuvering to work on as well as angling the brackets past the apron, but it did work. However there were a few things that came up during the installation that were different than what the instructions described. 1) The instructions say to get the chair placed on the edge of the table, then raise the vertical pieces on the brackets into the locked position and rotate to brace against table. With an apron, the apron blocks you from being able to do this, so I got the brackets around my apron, then raised the vertical pieces set at the lowest height so they would be in front of the apron as the instructions illustrate then finished moving it into position. 2) The picture on this website shows the vertical pieces raised up behind the apron which would make installation more difficult, is not how the manufacturer's instructions illustrate, and would leave no knee room for the child. These minor issues were not difficult to overcome or find creative, simple solutions for.

I'd also note that this does take both hands to install on a table, would take about 1-2 minutes once familiar with how it works, and does take a little finagling because of the rubber grips that protect the table and help keep it from sliding off....but like I stated before not impossible. It is NOT for use on a glass top table. (Why anyone would want to create that much counter pressure on the edge of a sheet of glass is beyond me anyway and I would have considered that point obvious.) The liner is easily removed and the whole thing wipes clean easily. It is a soft seat with firm bottom, but my son who is able to sit up straight has no issues with it and does not slide on the nylon material. If you have a supported sitter or one who isn't sitting up straight yet, then they might not be ready for this particular model. My son was very secure and safe in this chair and had plenty of room for his knees. I was able to fold it flat after uninstalling it and it fit in the bag that comes with it just fine although others said theirs didn't fit in the bag. Mine fit better with the seat back towards the opening in the bag versus the other way around.

The ONLY reason I did not give this product a 5 star rating is because of one design feature. The seat back comes up behind the middle of my son's head. So if he decides to throw his head back it hits the metal bar (which is covered by the padded seat liner.) It would have been better to make the back a little lower to avoid this issue, but since my son is able to sit up straight and we only intend to use this occasionaly on vacations and visits to family/friends homes it was not worth the difference in price for us. If I planned on using the chair as my main highchair for feedings, I would consider the more expensive models with lower backs worth the investment.

Hope this helps anyone considering the purchase of this item!

Purchased this seat to use on vacation. I assembled it, tested it on the hotel room table (which it didn't work -table was too thick), then folded it for storage. This is when it broke. Such a let-down. Returned the product without ever placing my baby in it.

Comments about Easy Diner Portable Hook On Highchair - Navy:

This chair has worked well on every table I have tried so far, including my dining room table at home that is round and has a lip around the edge. When I was researching clamp-on chairs it looked as though many would not accomadate such a table. I ordered this one knowing that there was a chance it would not work on my table, but was glad to find it does.

Features I like about this chair include: the sturdy metal frame, 5-point harness, firm hold the clamps have on the table, and removable pad that is easy to clean. The pocket on the back of the chair to store the travel bag and instructions is also very handy.

While I like the fact that the slick nylon fabric is easy to wipe clean and dries quickly, it does seem like it is a little flimsy and might wear out quickly. It also would have been nice to have a choice of colors. However, for the price I can buy a second one when it wears out and still have spent less than I would have on some other brands and models.
