We are using this with my 20 month old son on a twin bed. Our 4 month old daughter kicked him out of the crib and we didn't want to buy a toddler bed. He transitioned beautifully. The rails are very sturdy and we haven't heard that "thud" in the night followed by tears.

I returned it because I didn't realize you couldn't jsut use one of the railing.

I purchased this product for my daughter's room. Her room is very, very small and pushing her bed against the wall with a single bed rail simply wasn't an option.

Enter the Regalo Double Sided Hideaway Bedrail.

Really the only product on the market (the other models were either discontinued, had issues with compatable parts, or were very, very short therefore negating their use as bedrails).

My primary issue with this product is that (when used with a twin-sized bed) the supports that run under the mattress elevate the mattress by two inches. So you have two metal beams in the center of the bed, and nothing under the rest of the mattress.

The result is a mattress that sags tremendously in the middle and the ends. The sag in the middle is simply uncomfortable, but the sagging at the ends is dangerous. When my daughter was climbing off the bed, the mattress suddenly dropped like a trapdoor, causing her to plummet off the end of the bed.

Since we had no other option but these rails, I purchased a dozen cheap bath towels, folded them, placed them strategically under the mattress so that it would no longer sag. That seemed to do the trick, at least for now.

If you are like me, and this is your only option for double-sided bedrails, make sure you have lots of towels at the ready to make the bed safe for your child!
