We have a very large 8ft opening to our living room so that greatly limited what gates we could find. This has been better than we could have hoped for. We also have our treadclimber in the living room, so being able to configure a custom design with the 8 panels is wonderful. My 8month old definitely puts it to the test, standing and shaking the gate when she wants to be in the other room and it's always held up! We are always recommending this to all our friends! We have a fireplace right off our living room so this has been great to use as a room divider, kid ok zone and the fireplace zone. So far seems really sturdy, my son hangs on it and uses it to pull himself up all the time. Havnt found a downside yet.

Very versatile (more so than I expected). As a playpen, you can make several shapes (I was thinking of making it a heart on valentine's day ;o) It is larger than I expected too--total of 16' long when used as a gate (but you can make it smaller too by removing panels) So far it is also tall enough--my LO is off the charts for height (and weight) so I was afraid it would be an easy climb, but so far so good. I'm actually getting a second one b/c I like this one so much--we need something for in front of the fireplace and this impressed me so much, I'm not going to bother trying other gates or pens.
oh, it's super easy to use too!, just turn the little plastic knobs to loosen everything up and youre good to go--love it. no tools yay! (except a screwdriver for putting up the gate ;)
Ok, negatives: I wish it had extra panels you could buy. Door panels too--we have a very open floorplan in our house and used one whole 16 ' gate to enclose the L shaped stair area in our living room--it would be nice to be able to put an extra door in it so it is easier to move about the house. It's not so terribly inconvienient once you get used to the placement of the door but I think would be a good idea. extra regular panels would be great too for larger areas and for expanding the size of the playpen.
Overall, awesome (and when LO is done with it I'll use it for a puppy ;o)

My crawling Granddaughter was impossible to keep
in the same room with us, without jumping up to
retrieve her constantly, this is just perfect.

When we are doing things around our apartment, we put our 11 month old in here. Her ABC foam mat basically fits so you get an idea of how big it is. Her toys and books are there for her to play with. We bought this about 2 months ago and would recommend it if you don't want to worry about where they're getting into while you're trying to clean/cook/etc. Very easy to put together.
