Comments about ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat - Blue Opal:

I LOVE this car seat, I done a lot of researching for a good carseat. I have a 2012 Altima, and I need to be able to fit a backless booster, a convertable car seat, and a high back booster in the back seat. This car seat was a little difficult to put in backward facing (but that wasn't a big deal) My son loves it and does not mind getting in it! It deff works in my car with the others. I love this brand so much, I went and bought my 3 year old the prosport as well and it leaves so much room in the middle for my backless booster son. My 3 year old loves his car seat as well and has no problems in it and can sleep good. The only problem I really had was the proride the teether system is really had to do and I can not seem to get a hold of anyone to get it changed out.

Comments about ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat - Blue Opal:

This is the the 6th Recaro car seat that I am ordering. My youngest son has4 seats for his two cars for the two grandsons. He does racing in his Miata and uses an adult Recaro seat. Impressed by the adult seat, they researched the childrens seats and decided that they were the best on the market.

My oldest son is in the Navy and stationed in Italy. His oldest little girl is in a Recaro, and now we are ordering one for the littlest grnadson. With them in Italy, we feel is it doubly important for a safe seat for our next generation.

Comments about ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat - Blue Opal:

We have used 4 different car seats with my 3 year old son, and we love our Recaro! It is a heavy, solid, well built seat that still adjusts, fits, and cleans with ease. The Blue Opal fabric is breathable and lightweight, perfect for our Texas heat, yet it does not compromise the comfort or safety of the seat. One set of grandparents have a Safety First Air seat, which has many nice features but does not adjust as smoothly as the Recaro. Another set of grandparents have a Britax, which is a solid seat but does not have the high sides to protect in a side impact collision. We also have a [@] Sencera that is a cheap piece of plastic, but easier to travel with and load on an airplane. That is the extent of its use.The smooth adjustability, comfort of the padding, cool wicking fabric, and good impact protection make this a seat worth the money. We are expecting baby number 2 in January and are skipping the baby bucket seat and going straight to another Recaro.

Comments about ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat - Blue Opal:

Most importantly, I want to make mention of the MommaBear review. Namely the reclining for a nap aspect. It sounds like you're using the seat forward facing and wanting to recline the seat for your children to nap. This is improper use of a carseat. In forward facing position, per the manual, the seat is to be fully upright.

The recline feature is for use only in the rear-facing position, in which case the seat is to be fully reclined.

As for the difficulty of cleaning, I've thrown our fabric in the wash several times and never had much difficulty with it. The results have been amazing, the fabric comes out looking like new every time.

Yes, this seat is heavy and bulky. But that's precisely why it's such a great car seat. It's built to hold your child in place, to not flex under the strain of a collision. Do be aware that due to it's size, it is best suited for large vehicles.

Installation is a snap, and one of my favorite things about the seat, is that it installs so well that it feels as though it were one with the seat it is installed into. You can get a *really* firm tight fit with this car seat!

We've had this car seat for a few months, and the predecessor of this car seat for almost two years. After repeatedly moving between car seats and the like the straps are still in perfect condition. Not a bit of fraying anywhere.

They are a bit pricey, but you get what you pay for. With a britax car seat, your child's head will roll to the left or right in a side impact collision, with the Recaro's your child's head will be safely held in place.

Bottom line, this car seat has been carefully thought out, extremely well made and the several friends that have bought them based on my advice agree.

Comments about ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat - Blue Opal:

After reading many reviews, we decided on these seats for our twins. Our main concern was safety.
Luckily, we have not had to find out if they truly are safe! They are nice looking, cushy seats & I like that my boys are able to see out the windows because the seats sit higher up than others. There are several cons though...they are an enormous pain to take apart to clean, they are really heavy, they are huge and bulky, the straps are fraying after 5 months of use, the blue opal color is more of a periwinkle...not cute for boys!, the latch that fits between the legs has a flimsy little cover over it that will not stay on, so the buckle digs into their tummy, they only recline if the vehicle seat is reclined, so you must re-install the seat if you want them to recline for a nap....not an easy task!! My parents bought Britax seats to use in their car, and in my honest opinion, they are far superior to the Recaro in looks, comfort, and overall design...Not to mention MUCH cheaper! If I had not already sunk so much $$$ into the Recaro seats, I would purchase Britax.

Comments about ProRide Convertible Car Seat - Ash:

This is my second time I bought this car seat. I Bo gut this one for my 2month old which I will use after he grows out of the infant seat. My 4.5 y ear old 42lbsaverage height son still uses his. The only cons are the weight and bulky ness. Not a car to car transfer seat. We put this in out Subaru wrx in the middle seat fits good but not able to hold and adult comfortably on either side. We love the seat for the safty reasons and is a great traveling car seat. The sides are wide and high good for head rest and it reclines for good napping. Easy to clean but the felt on the sides does rub off when I used a wash cloth. I just bought the recaro booster seat this is good for car to car transfer light and easy to instal with side impact head rest. The best part is I will get my money out ofit since he will be able to use till he is in a seat belt. I wouldn't recommend for infant because rear facing this car seat the back is so high I am unable to see him even with a mirror. Over all the best car seat for safty and a comfortable seat for traveling.

We researched and researched a car seat and had actually purchased a different brand prior to the Recaro, but it wouldn't fit in our small suv (cx7)! We found the Recaro and its great reviews and so far (been using over 6 months)so good! It fit in the car and really gives you peace of mind because it is so secure and sturdy. An added bonus is that it is actually nice to look at in comparison to the other car seats out there. The only mild con is that the upholstery isn't washable- however, this is also a bonus because it looks so much nicer and actually fits seamlessly with a car's interior. We haven't had any problems with wiping it down, but it might matter to others.

Comments about ProRIDE Convertible Car Seat - Blue Opal:

This is a super nice car seat. However we were forced to return because in the rear facing configuration it was difficult to put the baby in the seat due to the high sides / bolsters of the car seat. The side bolsters are so high that the space between the seat and the door frame of the car (SUV in our case) was small. -- Again, I am talking in the rear facing configuration here.

It was simply not easy to put the baby in the seat and remove baby for fear of bumping its head on the door frame.

If I was shopping for front facing use only -- I would have no trouble recommending this seat. Looks very nice and appears very well made and, more importantly, safe. The quick-release anchor latches are great.
