Our 13month old grandaughter immediately rang the bell since it is tiny finger usable, pushed it around a bit, then sat on it herself. The size is perfect and build was very simple. It's very stable and all we would expect from Radio Flyer.

I am back to buy another one of these as a one-year-old birthday gift. I purchased one used for my son several years ago. It has stood the test of time and is now also enjoyed by my one and a half year old daughter as well as my 3.5 year old son. We have had NUMEROUS ride-on toys and this one is the most popular. Most of the others were plastic with lots of buttons to push that make noise. The others would only be interesting for my kids the first day and were then pretty much discarded. Not all one-year-olds will be able to do this bike right away; it would depend on the motor skills of the child. However, it is a pretty small bike, so if they do flop over, it's not very far to the floor. Also, a smaller toddler may not be able to do the bell competently. Overall, it's a great toy and I don't think anything can compare to the nice wood feel.
