I bought this to replace a crib teething crib rail that was flexible & adhesive. My original one was worn and corners were starting to turn up. When I removed it all it did take some of the wood finish off. This looked even more convenient - wrong! It did not fit on perfectly so my toddler much enjoyed popping the plastic pieces on and off. I guess if it fits PERFECTLY, they would not be able to do this but it did NOT fit my crib rail. I never even was able to use this product.

We received this product as a gift when our babies started teething on their crib rails. Wonderful product in theory, but useless in reality.

While my 10-month olds were downstairs playing with their Dad, I installed the Crib Rail Teethers according to the package instructions. My little ones promptly started gnawing and picking at them as soon as we put them in their cribs for their nap. Before we knew it, 1 of the guards was on the floor. Thinking that this was a fluke, I replaced it once they fell asleep. By the time we returned to the nursery, a few minutes after they woke up, the floor was littered with the teethers, and my daughter was playing with one inside her crib.

Needless to say, we removed the couple pieces that they had not yet removed, and that was the end of the Prince Lionheart Crib Rail Teethers in our home!

Not worth having to go through the effort to return! Did not fit the crib rail (Bratt Decor Jane Crib) ..and even though a boutique crib...I do not think they would fit the crib rail of most cribs available on the market. The top of the rail guard is not wide enough, hence once on (barely), they easy were removed by my 11 month old.

I ordered this item to prepare for teething and to protect our [expensive] convertible crib/toddler bed rails. When I opened the package, I was pleased. The item was exactly as I expected and a snap to install, literally. Just line them up and pop them on. Loved them! They do hold moisture, so I would pop them off after my son fell asleep to dry off the rail/guards then pop them back on. THEN my 7 month old figured out how to pull them UP AND OFF...he is now almost 9 months and I have just given up using these ON THEIR OWN. His favorite game is to take them ALL off of all FOUR sides of the crib and then grind his lower teeth against the rail. Not a success in our case...but I would still suggest them as back up. We now have them installed with terry cloth change mats tied over them...until he figures out the double knots, that is...

we have a new crib which is a sleigh type but we thought this would fit for the side bars which are straight and seem to be where our 1 y old likes to chew. they didn't. the adjustable version worked but is much more expensive and one piece does not cover even quite the length of one side. and our 1 y old just pulls it off. ah well it was worth a try.

We have a standard size crib with square rails and this item didn't fit. It was exactly what I was looking for and I was disappointed to have to return it.

I started using them when my son was 6 months old and they were a waste of money. In no time at all he figured out how to pull them off and continue chewing the side of the crib.

I'm a little cautious now that my baby is starting to grab onto things and what's evern worse is now he has learned to grab onto his crib and has been chewing the wood off his crib!

I bought these just to check them out and I love them. My son has not been curious to take them off and they do the job of protecting him and protecting his crib.

My 10-month pulls these off and goes right back to chewing on the crib. I had to tie them on and he still manages to pull them off sometimes!

Short and to the point: YES, the guards will protect your crib rails and baby's teeth when they are in place... BUT... your toddler will likely be able to rip the guards right off the rails (which, obviously renders them completely useless as teething rails, yet they are a fun toy apparently!)I might try some sort of double sided adhesive, but was hoping to avoid that in the first place... (also, wish it wasn't in 4 small pieces but rather one or two longer ones)

I have an 11 month old and a standard crib. The rails fit fine on my crib, they wouldn't fit on a convertible crib though. When I put these on, immediately my daughter can take them off...with her teeth! All she does is bit the bottom of them and they pop right off. They have done nothing but cause a mess as she takes them off, chews on them and then throws them across the room.

I have twins so I have two different cribs and this is the 3rd set I'm buying! I have one set on the sides of one of the cribs, and another set on the front. (this crib and rails I used for my 3 year old daughter too) My other crib is one of those with the attached dresser so I only can get one set on that crib. They fit snugly and easy to install.

As for the other reviewer who complained about it taking the stain off the crib...there's no adhesive to these, so if the stain came off that easily imagine if you didn't have them on your kid would have eaten that stain! Sucks if it made the crib cosmetically less attractive, but it did it's job in keeping your kid safe! Plus I think teeth marks are worse!!
