We got these for the corners of our bedside tables (baby likes to climb the bed and roll around, so it was a must) as well as for the corners of the footboard of our bed. They have already saved baby from bangs and bumps, so well worth the money to my mind.
Our bed is a light mahogany in colour, and these match well. They have stuck perfectly for over a year now (have an older set too), just remember to clean the surface with alcohol prior to adhesion. I don't know how the surface will look once we remove them - we'll likely have these on for a couple of more years, so whether the glue damages the lacquer after all that time remains to be seen.
I'd also recommend reading the directions before applying, it makes your life easier :o)

Easy to install and provides great protection for my 2 year old and 9 month old. Holds up for months now. I have purchased these for everything in my house that needs proofing!

I made sure my daughter was not in the room when I put them on. That didn't matter, she pulled them all off in one minute.
