i didnt know about podee bottles wen my baby was born so we started later about 3 months , she is now 16 months & still uses her podee bottle we tried alot of bottles playtex drop in & playtex angled , soothie , dr brown avent , breast flow adida, &others only podee will she take for 1 she dont have to hold it & tilt it up just because a baby learns to hold a bottle doesnt mean they should be layed down to feed alone & ther little arms get tired, all babies shound be sitting up or at least semi recline for choking & to protect ears , podee bottle needs to stay upright , & it frees up your hands & hers its a miracle in the car your baby is in the back seat while you drive & if she has a podee bottle you sit it next to her & no more dropped bottles ive tried it myself & i do not think it is hard to suck on some have said that 1/2 x it wasnt coming out & reasmembled it & it was fine also you can prime it where you push nipple a few x get fluid into nipple its not nessasary , after baby gets done sucking , tno fluid sits in the mouth like other bottles so no milk is bathing the teeth decay , my 79 yr of grand dad tells every one about podee how great it is i am often stoped & asked about her bottle i wish id known about bottle from birth speaking of birth im not sure if a newborn can hold nipple in mouth with out help in the begining ? id like to know , but i highly recomend podee bottles & i will use with my future babies , its great to prevent ear infections & also help with reflux my daughter had reflux real bad took medicine & tried dr brown bottles then podee the tubing has a long narrow brush to clean if you clean these often & soon after a feeding rather than days later its not an issue also you can manipulate tube with fingers to get some milk out if caked inside i have boiled them a few minutes says not to i have done the microwave too with water & ive soaked with water too in a bowl i later learned they sell extra tubing so have these on hand if you need new tubes, you can also just buy the conversion kit & use a regular bottle podee system will screw onto any standard size bottle i used with with dr brown i had so many the 2oz , 4oz & 8oz the tubbing just curls around inside bottle on 4 oz podee bottle only comes in a 8 oz but you can use it with a 4 oz bottle i love podee bottle systems they used to have a podee bottle system with a piggy back access with a detatchable syringe to give medicine as baby drinks & its not diluted & upou no they got it all its discontinued & it was probably the best invention since podee , baby wld never no same bottle system just with a piggy back port half way up to attatch syringe to & slowly give medicine im desperately looking for 1 of these if you like podee youd love this , find it grab it or post on [@]& id buy it great inventions my daughter loves her podee bottle she carries it around in her lamb , i sewed a handle on it to , i bought 1 at 1st to try , you can at least do that , i dont usually do reviews but i have here because its a great bottle , tere is another brand that is delivered by pacifier rather than a nipple , my baby is not a paci baby her choice nor thumb , ive not seen this one instore only online , but podee is at[@] a conversion kit will run 7.50 at [@] & a single bottle at buy buy baby about 9.99 sm x they are hard to find because the other big brands have bigger displays also ive seen a post that said podee tubes & nipples wear out fast , mine did not wear out iused them for 9 months b4 wanting to replace a couple of tubes only because dad didnt clean bottle soon after feeding , also u can usually use other brand nipples & screw on capes but 2 pieces of podee you must have that tube attatches to i say if your curious at least try it if your pregnant i wld not invest in a bunch of 1 type bottles alot of babies end of dictating what they will take also i dont mind buying used bottles even nippples so long as they are washed & sterlized by your self its okay ALSO WEN NOT IN USE TO KEEP NIPPLE PART FROM DANGLING DOWN I TIE IT LIKE A PRETZLE SO ITS CLOSER TO THE BOTTLE & NOT HANGING DOWN BABY CAN DRINK LIKE THIS LONG AS NO KINKS ARE IN TUBE ! WITH LONG TUBING BABY LIKES TO TRY & FEED ME TO SHE SUCKS THEN OFFERS IT TO ME OR HER PUPPY !
