These are great for a baby that sleeps in the bassinet, or crib (if you don't have a sensor pad). Once they roll over and start moving, the clip comes off and the alarm sounds. It is really great for the first 6 months though.

My son was born 3 weeks early and was admitted to the NICU for severe jaundice. Our first night there it was discovered that he would stop breathing in his sleep. After two weeks in the hospital they determined that he had apnea and bradycardia and we were being sent home. Having watched my son not breathe for 45 seconds and having to be revived by the nurses was terrifying and I was not ready to leave the comfort of the constant monitoring he received at the hospital. How was I ever going to get any sleep knowing that he could just stop breathing? Then my husband's coworker told us about this product. It has been a definite life saver and has lifted so much stress off of my shoulders. The alarm has gone off 6 or 7 times since we've had it (9 weeks) and the majority of those were due to his diaper sagging. We did have 2 "actual" episodes and I could not be more thankful that I have this monitor. When someone asks me how long I am going to make my son wear it, I only half-jokingly respond "until he's 15". I would recommend this to all parents!

My baby started sleeping facedown into the mattress and I panicked to find something so I could sleep again...I first bought an angelcare system, but once I hooked it up I heard interferrence with my summer video monitor. So back it went. This is much better not only because it will broadcast through my current monitor, but it is small, compact and portable. I don't have to worry about her sleep habits when we are at grandma's house, the monitor comes with me. I have had a few false alarms but it was becuase the diaper was too soggy or not snug enough to her skin, but not a big deal. Baby slept right through it!

After my nephew died from SIDS, having a movement monitor became especially important. Once I found out I was pregnant I started doing some research. My son is 9 weeks old and we have used this monitor (a gift from my brother and sister-in-law) since we brought him home from the hospital. We love it. It has alarmed at least once when it looked like our son wasn't breathing. It provides peace of mind, and being a first time parent I can sleep when he sleeps without worrying. I love the fact that you just clip it onto the diaper, allow it to rest on his belly, and you are good to go. So we don't worry if he is taking a nap somewhere besides his crib. I highly recommend this. It is well worth the money.

I am finally able to sleep more without constantly staring at my video monitor checking for signs of movement/breathing. This thing is great. And the alarm is heard easily through my baby monitor, but it doesn't actually wake my baby up!

The only problem is if your baby moves a lot, like mine does, it can come loose. Not such a big deal, because if it loses contact, it alerts you obviously, but that alert does scare you initially!

Having lost my daughter to SIDS last year, I was not about to lose another child to this. As soon as I found out I was pregnant I did my research on movement monitors. This proved to be a good purchase- it already let us know once when our baby quit breathing, therefore saving a life.
