Works perfectly with the Playtex Ventaire bottles...it is tough to find Medium flow nipples for the Ventaire but these are great.

I bought this product for several reasons: 1) my son takes the Medela med flow nipples (w/ slow he cries), 2) Drop-ins are said to reduce air and colic, 3) my son gets blisters quite frequently and I assumed the wide nipple "similar to breast-feeding" would reduce those. I was wrong on all accounts. I'm not sure if it's how my son feeds or just the product but he ends up with a lot of milk on his chin & face, and unlike the Medela nipples he almost always chokes when the feeding initially begins. It does not help reducing air, even when I squeeze the milk to the top of the bag then close the bottle, the bag never remains collapsed, nor does it collapse as he's feeding so I may as well just use a regular bottle. Not a bad product just didn't do what I thought it was going to.

The medium flow nipple works great for the ages 5-6 months when the slow flow is just not enough but the fast flow results in formula/juice all over the child. I was really excited to see the medium flow nipples added to the collection!

I used the slow flow nipples for 10 months because I was told they prevent nipple confusion if you're breast feeding. It worked, but the baby would get bored feeding and would eat very little at a time (e.g., around 4 oz). At night I would supplement with a bottle of formula but he would fall asleep on the bottle after eating only 4 ounces, and wake up several times a night hungry, yet would fall asleep on the nipple after only a few ounces.

When I finally decided to risk nipple confusion and go with a faster flow, I tried the fast flow but gave up because the baby choked on the fast flowing milk.

At 11 months I tried the medium flow and it is perfect! The baby drinks 6-8 ounces at a time, which means he sleeps a lot longer at night without waking up hungry (7+ hours instead of 3-4), and I can feed him 3-4 times a day instead of 5-6. (I stopped breast feeding at the same time so I can't say whether there was any increased nipple confusion. But I'm pretty certain that the longer sleep duration is due to the larger amounts that he drinks at a time, and because he drinks a lot more during the day now that he doesn't get bored.)

Love the Medium size. Slow just took way to long to feed my Son. Close to an Hour for 6-8ozs. Medium nipples however finish in 5-10 minutes depending on baby's hunger and attention. My Wife, Daycare and I love the Medium Nipples!
