I'm annoyed enough about this that I'm actually writing a comment! I have been a user since 2008 and have never had a problem. We had to open a new box several days ago and have already found two leaky liners. Normally not a problem but a mess from a leaky liner was the last thing I wanted to deal with when I have a tired, hungry and cranky baby in my arms. Did someone send me a bad batch as a joke, being that Halloween is coming up? Otherwise, we have loved this product. It was a huge help with our first cranky, collicky baby. The rating is for the overall product itself, not the batch that was sent to me.

After spending hours on end cleaning pump parts and bottle parts (we still love you, Dr. Brown's!) I was about to lose my mind. A friend recommended these for travel (we moved & drove across country when our baby was 4 mos!) and we started using the playtex drop-in system then. It is SO easy. Nothing to clean. just the nipple - we had extras so we could pop them into the rings and re-use the bottle. The green part of my conscious is a little sad...but one thing I learned when I became a mom is that time is precious and sometimes you gotta do what you gotta do to stay sane! We do recycle the liners, so that helps a bit and we try to do our part elsewhere...

No more messing with assembling, washing, and disassembling bottle parts....these are simply the BOMB!

The only thing that isnt good about these bottles is the oz don't match up. I have to measure in another bottle then put it in this bottle to feed. For me that isnt a big deal because I use powder formula and just make bottles when i need them so there is no mess in the extra bottle I have to use its ust the water I am measuring. I could see this being a problem for someone who breastfeeds of uses liquid formula because then the extra bottle that you are using has to be washed. These bottles are so easy to clean and do not leak. DO NOT buy store brand liners they stink and dont always fit right in the bottle. I bought some from wal mart and they leaked a lot!!

These liners make both preparing a bottle and clean-up breeze easy. With these sterile liners, you never have to worry about how clean the bottle really is. Once it was clear my baby liked the Playtex bottles, I was glad and didn't even think about switching.

I love these because after baby is done drinking you just throw away the liner and there's no formula left in the bottle to sit and rot until you can clean it. I feel like these are safer and more sanitary and I like that it's always like baby is drinking from a BRAND NEW bottle every time. I do believe it helps with gas too though I can't say for certain because when I tried other (well known expensive) bottles for gas my baby always choked even on slow flow. He doesn't choke on these even on fast flow now. I'm pleased. Don't buy the store brand liners (like your local pharmacy..) they are horrible! For a dollar or 2 less you will get a liner that reeks of plastic smell, feels weird, and if you put 7 ounces in it will be filled to the brim with no room for formula or to shake it. I should have known better... stick with Playtex name brand..at least for bottles don't compromise, these are great.

I agree with some previous reviewers who say this "upgrade" should work with older models. For parents of multiple children who have the old bottles, we shouldn't have to go out and buy all new products.

I agree with the reviewer below, this product works very well, with old and new bottles. I have bottles from my first son and now my second and I was happy to see that they made them to expand that extra little bit. Also, if you have the old bottles, and you don't want to get the new ones with the "new" 10oz lines, just measure the water in a measuring cup, fill the bottle with it, and use a sharpie to put a line on the bottle with how many ounces it is. Pretty simple, and you don't have to buy new bottles!

Clearly, if you read the other negative reviews, people have no clue how to use these liners. I use the new nurser bottles with both the playtex liners and the target brand liners and they both line up just fine. Besides, you want to measure the water to the line on the bottle itself not the liner, thats how I've been doing it and my son has not had problems.

Secondly, those using the old nurser bottles, clearly playtex upgraded so should you! I'm tired of seeing negative reviews for a great product because people are too lazy to upgrade! get with the times!
Did you know that you can get a free sample bottle with 5 liners from playtex if you only take the time to register... problem solved!

My wife and I are new parents as of 4 days ago. after a newborn having gas constantly and staying up all night for 3 days in a row we were exhausted. We are trying to breastfeed and supplementing with bottles until my wife's milk comes in. this morning we rushed our daughter to the hospital because I was so exhausted from 3 days of no sleep I literally passed out while burping her and dropped her. THANK GOD, she was fine. no injuries at all. I'll still never forgive myself though. My wife's mother has passed so we do not have any help locally. My mother quit her job and came to temporarily live with us to help. yesterday the first thing she changed was the bottles. Believe it or not, the best thing that happened to us was when my mother suggested these bottles. Our daughter has NO GAS. she sleeps for 2-3 hours SOLIDLY AND CONSISTENTLY before we wake her to feed. looks beautiful and content when sleeping and feeding. has HEALTHY DIAPERS. It gets even better when you have the whole system. we bought the double electric pump for under the cost of most pumps. we also have extra bottles with the storage system caps. all we do now is:
1-pump breastmilk into the bottles.
2-take the suction cup off, put a storage cap on and throw it in the freezer.
3- take the next days bottles out of the freezer and warm them.
4- take the cap off, put a sterilized nipple on and PUSH ALL THE AIR OUT BY COLLAPSING THE LINER FROM THE BOTTOM. (JUST LIKE THEY DO WITH MEDICAL NEEDLES FOR A SHOT)
5- feed our baby princess
6 -put the nipple in the sterilizing steamer storage device we bought.
7 - throw away the liner.
THERE IS NO TRANSFER OF LIQUIDS FROM ONE CONTAINER TO ANOTHER.
THERE IS NO PREP OF THE BOTTLES WITH MIXING FORMULA.
THERE IS NO BUBBLES FROM SHAKING OR STIRRING. THERE IS NO CLEANING OF BOTTLES.
THERE IS NO CHANCE OF ALGAE OR BACTERIA FROM IMPROPER DRYING.
YOU HAVE UNLIMITED CLEAN BOTTLES AT ANY MOMENT AS LONG AS YOU HAVE A BOX OF LINERS

IT'S UNBELIEVABLE HOW EASY IT IS. IT'S THE PERFECT SYSTEM TO MAKE SURE YOUR CHILD ALWAYS HAS A CLEAN BOTTLE AND HAS NO AIR ADDED TO THE MILK OR FORMULA.

WE ARE RETURNING ALL THE DR BROWNS AND AVENT PRODUCTS WE BOUGHT AND BUYING MORE OF THESE DROP IN LINERS.

I really like this except for the markings, as others noted. WE have both the old and new "premium" bottles and the ounce markings still don't line up on the 10oz side of the premium. My son's 4 mos old and when we first put the expandable liners (which we bought at the drugstore) in it lined up exactly with the 10oz markings, but the most recent batch of liners (bought here) seem to be different and if we measure 6 ounces in another bottle and pour it in to the liner it doesn't match either set of markings. Most of the time we're pouring breastmilk in from another bottle with markings, but it's really annoying to have to use another bottle to measure the liquid when making formula.

I'm annoyed with the fact that Playtex changed the drop-in liners. This is my 3rd child. I bought some bottles for my first, and more for my 2nd. I've got enough bottles (I guess Playtex calls them "holders") for my baby right now. Because the new expandable 10oz liners have impossible to read markings that are in 2-ounce increments, and because they don't line up with the markings on the 'old' holders, these liners frustrate me. I think that while there was probably a legitimate need for a 10oz system, it should have been done differently. This seems to me more like a grab by playtex to get you to purchase all new holders because they have made it so difficult to use the old-style ones with the new liners.

I've read reviews detailing leaking and can only imagine that this is a problem with the user and not the product. I've never had a problem with the product leaking. My baby's dribbling mouth is another issue.

The idea is great, since many other companies have bottles which allow more than 8 oz. My son does not drink 10 oz. at a time though. I have never had a problem with them leaking, and another poster stated that they only have a faint 8 oz. mark on them... this is not true. They have a mark every 2 oz., however it is very faint. They are made to mainly be measured while in the drop in bottles.
