I'm not sure where my first review went on this product, but this product was so horrible I reviewed it right after attempting to use it. This was too sticky and hard to use. There are better handprint ornament kits out there.

I thought this would be the perfect way to make a handprint ornament since it is not messy, but I was wrong. When the material dries it is more like foam. It separated in places while it was drying and I couldn't put it back together. It also never felt like it was completely dry. Don't waste your money on this product.

I agree with the two other reviewers who said this was hard to use. I just did 3 of these with my daughter. The product was the consistency of chewing gum. The instructions are not clear - the ones inside the package say knead it for 2-3 minutes, but the ones on the package say knead it for one minute. Even one minute is too long because it loses moisture and then becomes sticky and virtually unworkable. It was too sticky to even get it out of the package. Some of it was left in the package. Then it stuck to the rolling pin provided in the kit, stuck to my daughter's hands, stuck to the hoop you are to use to make it a perfect circle, and stuck to the straw provided to make the hole for the ribbon. We ended up not using the hoop, her handprints are somewhat distorted and I had to use a metal pick we use for picking crabs to make the holes for the ribbons. There are kits out there that are better than this one. I know, because I made handprint ornaments with my son a few years ago when he was a baby and they turned out much better. I think you have to do a few more steps (ie: bake the ornament) but it is worth it because it's more like working with clay and less like working with bubble gum. I only wish I remembered where I got them before (and that I'd read the previous reviews on this product) so we could have used those. Overall, a disappointment. I would definitely not recommend these. Go find the kind you bake.

The only reason I didn't give this a perfect 5/5 is that it was difficult to keep small pieces of lint from it and also impossible to get all of the air bubbles out. I think the minor imperfections give it a sort-of unique quality, but I wished it were a bit more like it was advertised on the packaging. Having said that, everything is included for you to create a fun ornament. I purchased two; one for my son's hand-print and the other for his foot-print. I know we will cherish these for the rest of his life. Also, if this is for a newborn like my son -- he's only 2 months -- there is actually enough of the mold to split it into two! Either way, this is an excellent idea and wonderful value. Any parent, grandparent, aunt or uncle would love to have this as a gift on their tree!!!

This material was hard to roll out and prevent it from sticking. Also it doesn't look smooth and professional as in the picture. I'm going to try a second one to see if maybe I did something wrong on the first but to be honest not sure that I would recommend this product to anyone.

We got this as a Christmas present for our 9mo old & it's one of the best gifts ever! Very simple to use... just kneed the stuff up to warm it up then roll it out. We actually had enough in 1 kit to made a hand & a foot impression. Plus they give you 3 ribbons (a blue, white & pink). We are buying these for all our friends who have little ones, it's a great idea and fast & simple to do!

This product is great in theory but difficult to use. We tried for over 20 minutes to make an impression of my 8-month-old's hand, but the material kept sticking to her palm. It would pull away from the impression when we moved her hand, leaving a very bumpy impression with threads hanging off it. It took on the appearance of chewing gum that's been pulled off the sidewalk by a shoe. I haven't been able to find any other reference to this problem anywhere on the web. Surely somebody else using this product has found a fix or a technique that will prevent this problem?
