This is a good little clock. It is easy to set and lights up nicely. My daughter understood right away that she was supposed to stay in bed until the clock turned green. However, it took several months before she actually started doing it. If this clock doesn't work right away for your little one, don't give up it just might take them a little longer until they are ready to stay in bed by themselves. This clock really does help little ones understand when it's time to get up.

I have been using this product with my daughter since she was at least 18-months old and was always waking up and calling for us too early. This gave her a visual cue to see if it was ok to call for us or not in the morning. I love that it just glows and so won't wake her up, but if she happens to wake up, she can see whether it's time to call for us or not. I no longer had to feel so guilty when she would be calling for us but it wasn't time to let her get up yet - how would she know the difference? With this, she could easily see that we weren't coming to get her because it wasn't time yet. I think it made her feel a sense of control which is important for toddlers/pre-schoolers.
It has many options on the back for when you want it to glow and for how long. You can leave that setting as is and set a separate nap timer which works the same way.
Later you can use it as an alarm clock to wake the child up who is sleeping in - we have not had that problem yet! My daughter is now 3 and still loves her clock and I hear her pretending with her toys by putting them to sleep and saying, "ok the clock is green, it's wake-up time!"
Great product, functionality, easy to use, will be getting one for our second daughter on the way when she's 1. I can see us using this for many more years with the children. Awesome product.

I was so excited to get this product in the mail based on all the reviews. However, there is one very big flaw that needs to be fixed and this would be an amazing product. You set the clock for a specific time, say 7:00. At 7:00 the owl turns green, and stays green for exactly a half hour. This is fine if your child wakes up at a predictable time every single day. But, lets say they sleep in until 7:31. They are waking up and seeing that it's not green! My son would get so excited when he stayed in bed until it was green. He was so proud of himself. Then, the next day he would sleep in and I think he felt like he didn't accomplish his goal. It was impossible to keep his routine consistent. It should stay green until the child turns it back to the original color!

My 3 year old loved the OK to Wake! Alarm Clock, but when the night light function wouldn't work on night 7 of using it, he fell to pieces. Diapers.com was great in helping me replace the alarm clock and I'm assuming the new one will work fine and hopefully longer than a week. My son totally got the concept right away and he stayed in his room until the light turned green on night 2 of using it. That alone made this a worthy purchase.

Our daughter has woken up between 430 and 530am since she was an infant. At 28 months, we were convinced this was going to last forever, and had succumbed to painfully early mornings spent wandering in the dark.

This owl changed it all in 3 days. The first night we explained to her to wait until her new friend turned green. That next morning, we did hear the usual shouting, and went in only to confirm - not yet green! Need to wait! The next morning, we heard her talking to her owl... "not yet... not yet" and the third morning - not a sound until we heard "Coco did it! Owl is green!" At 6:45am.

WOW. If your child wakes too early, buy this. You won't regret it. He's cute, easy to work, does just what is promised in the description. We love him.

I have to say I doubted that this would work with my daughter. She is almost 3 and was getting up at all hours of the night to hop in bed with Mom and Dad. Then she would wake up at 6:00am and refuse to try to go back to sleep. The alarm worked the first day, but then she had about 3 days where she fought it. But after continuing to teach her what we wanted her to do, it works perfect! I change the times depending on what time she falls asleep or if its the weekend. It's great!!! I only wish the eyes stayed closed until the light turns green. I think that would be a good visual for her, but it works fine anyway.

If it's at all sunny outside it is impossible to tell that the light is on... this is a major problem as I'd like the clock to let my son know it's OK to get up around 7am but it's already getting light at that time. So even though the light comes on as it should, it's impossible to see that it is on given it's not pitch black in the room by wake up time. The only thing we've been able to use this clock for is as an (expensive!) nightlight as that's the only time you can see the light is on inside.

I have a 3 year old and he often wandered into our room at all hours of the night! When I got this I wasn't sure if he would really get the concept. The first night it worked great! He was actually excited to wait for the light to turn green. The second night his cousins spent the night and he was excited to explain to them how his new light worked! So far so good! My only wish is that it could be rechargeable, maybe if it had a base-station. So far it hasn't run out of batteries though so it hasn't been a huge issue.

We had several weeks of very early wake-ups. We were trying to figure out what to do and I heard about this clock. It took one time explaining how the clock works for our 2-year-old to get it. The first night she was quiet until the clock turned green in the morning. When it was green we heard an excited, "It's green. Daddy, I'm awake." We've had one early wake up since we got this clock, but I went in to her room and quietly explained the clock hadn't turned green yet. She put her head back down without a fuss and was quiet until the clock went green. The only problem we've had is when she slept so late in the morning and slept through the green stage. (It only stays green for 30 minutes or so.) Then again, that's not really a problem to complain about...

We bought this clock for our 3 year old daughter who was waking up way too early, hoping it would encourage her to stay in bed longer. Even though she was very excited about the "froggie," the first couple of mornings weren't successful. By the third day though, she was "waiting for the froggie to wake up." What has been even more rewarding for us than the extra sleep that we're getting is the joy and self-confidence that our daughter gets every morning. She is so proud of herself for waiting for the frog and wakes up laughing and clapping (so much better than crying and screaming)! Some of the features that we appreciate most about this clock are that it's battery operated...we can put/take it anywhere, and E likes to carry it around the house like a stuffed animal. You can adjust the length of time that the green light stays lit, so she doesn't miss out on the experience if she happens to sleep longer than usual. This clock has a digital read out rather than a cute picture on the front. E has started to associate numbers with the time she's waking up, and the clock will transition to an actual alarm clock as she gets older. Overall, we could not be more pleased with this clock and plan on using it for a long time to come.

I bought this clock for our almost 23 month old. and it works great! she was super excited about getting her own clock. we explained that when it lit up green that it was okay to get out of bed and come get mommy and daddy. the first morning, my husband was in the shower for work and she went in all excited to tell him..."Daddy clock GREEN!!" she was so proud of herself. We've been using it for about a week and she's gotten up around the green light time each morning. It's also great for putting her to bed, telling her that she needs to stay in bed now until the green light comes on. I like that later in life it can be used as a regular alarm clock.
I was surprised however, that it's only battery operated. but makes it easy for placement!

We bought this to keep the kids in bed until a somewhat reasonable hour in the morning. It really works. My four year-old is really proud of himself for learning the rule to wait for the light to come on and is teaching his younger brother to do the same. It's become a life saver for us with these early risers!

After a trip to the East Coast, our 22 month old was stuck in a pattern of waking every morning at 4:15 am. For 3 months. We were all very, very unhappy. I finally decided to give this a try. I waivered between this and the Teach Me Time clock, because I liked the fact that the other had a real clock face. I can't remember why I chose this in the end, but we've never looked back. The clock has a digital face, so it will be used for a long time. It has an easy to decipher back flap, with controls for an alarm, a nap timer, and a timer for when the light glows green in the morning. The only feature we use now is the Ok to Wake Feature. Our little girl go the concept immediately, which surprised us. "When green friend turns green it's time to wake up." Three weeks later, she is sleeping in until 7 am and awakes, chortling for "green friend, go, go, go, green friend turn green, wake up everybody." There are several features we love--it has a button on the left hand foot that turns on a dim light (can be adjusted for brightness and time on), as well as a button on the right-hand side that makes green friend smile and make little facial expressions. Pretty cute idea, excellent design. We're just so happy--all of us--to have more sleep. Thank you, green friend!
