The reason why these cups are so great is bc they don't leak! I've pretty much tried out every cup out there even those expensive ones that you wished you never invested in.

Inside the lid is a plastic valve that I'm assuming controls how much gets in and how much goes out. I have a different Nuk sippy cup and as much as I loved it in the beginning it just started leaking every time she sucked down her drink. In the meantime of her drinking down her drink, stuff would come out of it which inevitably would lead into a big mess on her.

The spout is another excellent mechanism on this cup. It's not super flexible where she wants to bite down on it and basically keep biting down on it. She's 10 months so other cups would start wearing and tearing I think as soon as new teeth were sprouting up. These spouts are a little harder but not super hard if that makes sense. Basically it would hold up to your teething baby I think as it does mine.

I'm definitely buying more. Now if Nuk could make an awesome straw cup or anyone else.

Now I have to admit the only thing that is a negative but it doesn't put a crimp in my rating is the staining. I give her carrot apple juice and it does stain a tad on the spout. Not a big deal though, but it may be a big deal for others.

These cups are perfect for my year-old twins. I've tried lots of different beginner sippy cups and these are the best! Plus the colors help to keep track of who is drinking out of which cup.

We use this sippy without the valve for our 19 month old. He's had trouble with gas in the past and whenever we've tried to switch him from his Dr Brown bottles to sippy cups he gets gas. We're already using the Dr Brown sippy cups for his juice and he won't accept formula/milk in his "juice sippy". So far, no increase in gas (maybe since we aren't using the valve). Just bought 4 more.
