This is a very stiff gate and is not user friendly. It is a good product if you don't have to collapse it to stow away. If you do like I did, the frustration reminded me of untangling Christmas tree lights. I returned it and bravo to Diapers.com for having such a great return policy.

A must for every parent or caretaker for a mobile baby. I love the size of this playpen. It really feels large for my nephew who is quit big for his age and newly crawling and taking steps. He loves to be in there with all his toys and even I can get in and play with plenty of room to move. It is a lifesaver for a non baby proof house and should be mandatory for anyone caring for a quick little one. It takes some time to get used to the set up but the product it sturdy. My parents have one that is over 15 years old and still kicking! Invest and know you will have forever and can pass around the family. And buy it from Diapers.com. No one compares to service or delivery time.

I use this with the extra panels (8 panels total) for my 9 month old. He pulls up on it and cruises. We put the non-slip pads it came with on the bottom plus we have it on a foam matt so it definitely does not slip and is very sturdy when he pulls up on it. We originally tried to put it in a rectangle configuration but it was not sturdy so we stuck with the recommended octagon configuration. The 8 panels provide a large play area for him. It packs up very easily and I don't think it is all that heavy or awkward to carry. The hinges do make a popping noise as you are getting them into place but I don't think it is exceptionally loud. Love the product and am very pleased with it. It is exactly what I was looking for at a great price.

For the price this gate is an excellent value. The size is great, if you put it in the shape of a rectangle it's about the size of a crib, and if you put it in a hexagon the kids feel like they have more space to play. I've used it for both a playpen and as a crib when traveling and if you keep the carry handle strap it's very easy to tow this thing around and fits easily in the trunk of your car. I originally got this so that I could put off having to babyproof for a while because i live in a low grade apartment with peeling paint and whatnot, and my husband was paranoid about letting our cat and baby play together for a while. so we kept her in this until she started feeling isolated, once she started crawling around 6 months we opened it up and wrapped it around our sectional sofa so that we could sit comfortably while keeping her company and playing with her. we kept it this way for a looooong time and the only thing that concerned me was the spokes on the ends when you leave it open instead of closed (we had it openly wrapped around the front of the couch) so we covered them with pillows to keep her from falling on them and kept it in place. We kept it like this until now, she is 11 months now and has been running around since she was about 7 or 8 months and she finally learned how to pull it aside and escape so now i finally babyproofed everything and let her run loose and gave the gate a new function, this time i wrapped it around the tv & entertainment center so she can't get into the cables, dvds, or tip over the tv and such and it's doing a great job at that too! i also like the fact that i can attach toys all over it with those plastic rings you can find just about anywhere. I only have two complaints about this product and that is 1. it's very loud so don't try to set it up when baby is sleeping, and 2. at first it's very difficult to open and close it but after a while you get the hang of it. i only give it 4 stars because i'm sure it's probably not THE BEST one out there and it's not exactly pretty to look at, but again it's a great value for the price!

When I first got it in the package, it was hard to pull out. It's great that it came compacted, but it was hard to open since it becomes 6 pieces all connected. The small piece of (whatever it is) that's holding all of it together should be turned into something where we moms can carry it like a bag if needed.

Also, the fact that the 6 are connected make it hard to bend the gate to the shape desired since you really have to push/pull hard to get it to bend.

I hate having to individually put the friction guard on the bottom, considering the size of the gate.

I am currently using just 4 of the 6 to block off the entertainment center as well as blocking off a path so that my child doesn't wander into the kitchen.

It's working really well in containing my child to a space and when my child pulls/tugs on it, it's very sturdy, which is great!!

Does what it's supposed to. I purchased it hoping my son would last longer in it than he does the pack n play, where he was beginning to feel trapped, and it worked out. I mainly use it to keep him safe and contained in his room while I shower in the bathroom connected to his room. I also recently had a stomach virus and this thing was a life saver! It gave me a place to put him when I needed to lay down or get sick.

i live with my friend and our boys are close in age it alows use to clean and get school work done. The safety yard is a life saver cant wait til summer to use it at the beach.

I love using this when I want to ensure my son does not crawl or touch furniture that are dangerous. Its big enough so that he does not feel like he is trapped. I only wish it wasnt heavy. Overall a must for crawelers!

We used one of the configurations in the instructions to create a barrier between rooms so that our infant son wouldn't crawl into my workspace, under my office chair. However, one time I tripped over it and the whole fence fell down. When I tried to replace a broken section, I found the connectors were also broken. It lasted us about a month or two.

My 10 month old son is entergetic and fairly strong for his age. Within 10 minutes of bein inside this gate, my son managed to push across the tile floor and managed to climb out. And my son can't walk yet. I returned the gate the next day.

Four dogs and camping means they are tied up and not having fun. We bought 2 Super Yards XL's to take camping. This was the best trip ever and our dogs were able to be off leash and we had the room inside our yard to sit with them.

I use this gate for many things. It comes apart in 3 two sided sections which are great to put around a coffee table or to block off a certain area of the house. We wedged one side behind a couch and used the other sides to keep kiddos out of the kitchen. I have been using this gate everyday for four years and is a staple I recommend for every parent. Use around the christmas tree, outside, around our kitchen table to keep our toddler from moving chairs and climbing on them, etc etc. We feel it's worth every penny!
