This pad is great because it sits on top of the mattress so you aren't fighting to get it around the mattress - huge deal when doing nighttime bed changes. Never had a leak through it or even close. Definitely recommend the larger size so it covers your whole crib mattress. I also now use them on top of the twin mattress pad on my older kids beds for an extra layer of protection.

I used this mattress protector with my first son, who is now four, and now I am putting more on my baby registry as I wait for twins. I love it. It is a bit oversized, which is fine because then I don't worry about it shrinking in the dryer. But it's never shrunk, is soft and well made, and I am really comfortable with it knowing that it's made from high quality non-toxic materials. I like that it is flat because I use zip top sheets (also would recommend!) and that makes it easy to change. I purchased a different one made from wool at one point and it shrank, and now I only want this one. In fact, I bought a larger size for my son's room when he moved up to a big boy bed. Would definitely recommend this product.
