I used one of these through a full 18 months of nursing my older child and absolutely loved it. I just ordered a new one to replace the original for my second child and was very disappointed by the change in quality from my original. The zipper for the cover is cheap and literally broke the first time I tried to zip it after washing the cover. Also, the adhesive they used to put the pieces of foam together (perhaps the foam itself, which also seems to be a new material) has a strongly offensive chemical smell that I never experienced with the original. I will be returning this product.
The shape and design are, however, the best nursing support I found the first time, so I'm planning to use my old one, despite some wear and stains. Beats the "new" option!!

I had a Boppy Pillow for breastfeeding for three weeks before getting a Brest Friend Nursing Pillow and WOW what a difference! I was kicking myself for not getting one sooner. I was originally turned off by the price and the name - kinda hokie. But it's worth every penny and now that I have one I make jokes about it really being my "Brest Friend". I was having trouble getting my son to latch properly and it seemed he wasn't laying flat enough with the Boppy to be in a good position to feed. A lactation consultant had recommended the Brest Friend to me, but it seemed she was just trying to sell me another product, so I didn't take her advice right away. Big Mistake. My recommendation is to purchase this before you have the baby-take it to the hospital with you and begin using it day one! The cover is easy to wash and the adjustable strap ensures a good fit. (The Boppy has been great for proping my son on his belly and to support him in a sitting position so if you already have one it's still very useful.)

This pillow works very well for my needs. I just had my first baby, and he was a whopping 12lbs and 23" at birth- I tried the Boppy but at first I was too swollen to really get it around me. Later, after the swelling went down I was able to get it around my waist, but it was still too thick for my large (40F) chest and my large baby, he would be too high to nurse him. This pillow is only a couple of inches thick, but is sturdy, made of foam. It allows the perfect amount of space between the baby in my lap and my breasts so I am not bending over or trying to lift my breast to him. I also find that this pillow stays put in a way the Boppy cannot, thanks to the strap and the back support.
