I love this gate, very sturdy for our eleven month old. We tried to save money by buying a cheaper gate, and we got what we paid for. Returned the cheap gate and got this, and we are very pleased. We bought this and the 11 inch gate extension, and it's been very sturdy and keeps the little one out of dangerous places.

When I first got this gate, I returned it because I thought it was bent, but it wasn't. We have had our gate up for about 8 months. Our stairway opening was too big by an inch, so we mounted some wood pieces on both sides of the wall, and it is very secure. I have fallen into the open door of the gate and it didn't bend at all; it seems to be a very sturdy gate. I have 3 boys under 5, and only my 4.5year old can open it, my 1 and 3 year old cannot. I love that it swings both ways, we haven't ever had a problem with the bar across the bottom (no tripping on it or anything). The only thing I do not like is that the gray stopper has become loose, and has a tendency to come off - although I think there is a little help with that. But I wish it were a tighter fit or would lock into place.
Bottom line is that I know that my kids are safe when they are upstairs, and I don't have to worry about them falling down the stairs at all (and my kids haven't ever tried climbing over this gate, like they have other gates). I am currently looking to purchase another one of these exact same gates for another area in my home.

The metal parts of the gate appear to be poorly soddered together. The extenders, which are supposed to be joined to the main gate by plastic pieces, do not fit. Overall, this was a poorly made product, although I have had good experiences with other Munchkin products. I would NOT recommend it.
