      Comments about Baby Food Grinder:

It is easy to use as in just turn a handle but you need to push hard on the base to make it work. This is mainly because the "blades" are too blunt and don't do any cutting but just push stuff around. But it is useful for babies who are just starting to eat so that you can make small batches of fresh food. Also the way you drop food is messy and you can't put anything with liquids or dripping with fluis as it fall right through. A better design would have been to have it inverted so that you drop food down the chute, press the turning mechanism and the food collects in the bottom like a cup. There are too many parts to dismantle and clean everyday. Still I sue it everyday and for [$] it is a decent option compared to other stuff out there.

        Comments about Baby Food Grinder:

My husband and I LOVE this product! It has been our first food "processor" and helped us start our son on avocado at about 5 months (which great for mental development). Next we went to bananas and sweet potatoes.
Admittedly its a bit hard to clean, but not as bad as a garlic crusher. I can see how it wouldn't work with oranges or juicy fruits, but anything creamy, and even yellow squash works great. Plus, creamy foods are easier for young babies to learn to use their tongues to swallow with, and are less likely to choke them than 'watery' foods.
We've taken this piece of equipment to restaurants and even on a plane with us - perfect for its purpose!

Perfect at home when we're having something the baby might like to try. (vegetable soup, lasagna, mushrooms with polenta, a rice dish, etc.) or to take along to parties so the baby can try delicious dinners instead of sticking him with a jar of bland baby food.
It's good and very convenient for one meal at a time. I stick with a food processor if I'm making big batches of food for freezing.

This is a waste of money. The blade isn't sharp enough to do anything. You have to push down while you turn the handle. The pushing down pops the screen & "blade" out. I guess it's good that it's easy to clean once you give up on trying to chop up/puree/grind food.

I like that the grinder made by metal - some others doesn't.
So we use it for about a week. No complaints.

                      Comments about Baby Food Grinder:

If you want to be able to prepare baby's meals at the table, out of what you are feeding the rest of your family, you will like this. It is one of those things that takes a little effort to figure out, at first, so it is a good idea to try it out before you have a hungry baby waiting to be fed. I used it almost every night for several months, with each child. Once they had learned to finger feed small pieces, I didn't use it as much, but still used it for things like spaghetti. Adding a little water or other liquid is helpful, with some foods. Most foods come out with some texture, like the junior foods you can buy.

                        Comments about Baby Food Grinder:

This type of baby food mill has been around for many years, and they work as well today as they did 40 years ago! It does take a little bit of coordination to push down with one hand and turn with the other, but a tiny bit of persistence at the beginning is all it takes.

These are not intended for making batches of baby food ahead of time, so it is not surprising that those who try to use it for that are not happy with it! They are for making baby's meals right at the table, with the rest of the family, using some of what the rest of the family is eating. I also used mine to make snacks, like raw applesauce, or other fresh fruit. There are a few tricks that make using it easier. If you are using something that is hard, like a raw apple, it is best to dice it before you put it in there. Most things do not need to be cut up though, except to fit them into it.

It sometimes helps to add a tiny bit of water, with thick things, and a little bit of baby cereal can be used to thicken very runny things.

To clean, just put the parts in the dishwasher.

I recommend these and often purchase them as baby gifts!

Are the others kidding? We really like ours. It's easy to use, easy to store when not in use, easy to clean up - no sharp blades, no electricity required. It may not hold much food, but who are you feeding? A baby! and they don't eat much!

It's best used 1 meal at a time. If you are making enough to freeze it'll take more effort it's true. BUT, I particularly like it because it mashes everything up very evenly (unlike a food processor) and it filters out any food parts that can't be mashed (unlike food processors). Also, if you haven't cooked the food enough for your baby, it won't mash through (unlike a food processor that'll just cut up anything).

In my humble opinion I find this product to be simple and useful solution to those looking to make their own baby food. I also own a mini food processor that I bought just to make baby food in & I think I used it about twice with my first daughter and not at all with my second. It (a Cuisinart) cost a heck of a lot more than this food grinder and now it's just taking up shelf space!

I like using this for soft foods like bananas, avocados, cooked sweet potatoes. It is easier for me to use in a hurry instead of using the blender or food processor which I use when I am making big batches of food to freeze. I like this product and use it about 3 times a week.

If you are looking for a product to make your own baby food, purchase a blender or food processor.

But if you are looking for a way to introduce your baby to table food, this is a fantastic product. It is inexpensive, easy to use, and allows your baby to experience tastes and textures before he or she is able to actually chew food. I have used this grinder to introduce table food to both of my daughters when they were between 6 and 9 months old. We used it daily and just threw it in the dishwasher when we were done.

On the down side... It does not have a big capacity, so if you're wanting to grind large quantities of food it's not for you. Also, it can be a bit messy if the food you are grinding contains much liquid (the rubber liner can leak a bit), so prepare for a little leakage.

I got this product thinking it would be a fast alternative to mashing food with a fork but it was a complete waste of time..You can only mash small portions at a time with most if it ending up mashed in the grater or on the sides of the tube. You are better off just mashing with a fork or investing in a mini food processor.
