My 17 month old daughter broke three of these crayons within the first week. It didn't take much force either, they broke by simply falling off her high chair. Also, you must press very hard when using them, which of course is difficult for young children.

I had purchased several brands of crayons for my toddler so we could color and draw together. I spent quite a lot on some brands. We had the same results with all of them except for Melissa & Doug. They break and they break very easily. We used these up after a long time and not even one broke. I even purchased the smaller ones in a large set and they didnt break either. My daughter loves these for creating her "masterpeices". Her coloring and drawing skills have improved so much now that the crayon does not break everytime she tries to color.
