We got this for my daughter when she turned one. It has been a wonderful little percussion set. She loves playing with it. Great to play alone, with her little friends, and with us. Very fun!

We bought this for our then almost three year old for Christmas this past year. He loved it immediately, and we've never regretted buying it. Everything Melissa and Doug makes is made really well, which is what attracted us to this particular band set. The only two issues: the string comes off the triangle, and we have to put it back on repeatedly; and my son accidentally put his foot through the tambourine. The thing I loved: even though he stepped on it and broke it, the edges were smooth and he wasn't hurt at all. We kept it around for a month or two until we bought a tambourine to replace the old one. I think he would likely play with this until he was six...and it will last! Highly recommend.

My 2 year old son and my 9 month old daughter play with these instruments every day and love them! They stand up to constant use and provide lots of laughs and smiles. PLEASE introduce your children to music with these instruments; you will not be disappointed!

I bought this set for my 21 month old daughter, despite the fact that it's labeled for 3 years and older. This is her "go-to" toy every morning when she wakes up. We have parades and investigate rhythms. Tying the two pieces of the triangle together eliminates the need to worry about her swallowing the string. I'd highly recommend this product!

Best musical kit, not cheapish plastic stuff but real instruments.

My daughter got this set when she was 18 months old. She enjoys the different sounds and making "music". The maracas are disappointing, as they are very quiet and aren't very enticing due to this. My daughter has another maraca set and prefers them because they have a nice strong shake shake sound. The clappers broke during a playdate. The stretchy string broke. It was not being roughly handled.
Overall this is an OK set, but there is definitely some room for improvement.

My 2 year old son got this as a gift. He enjoys the clapper most. After a few minutes with the tambourine, he shoved the triangle's chimer through the cover. I would have expected Melissa and Doug to have a more durable covering on a child's toy. Overall, he plays with parts of the toy for a few minutes every couple of days. Not a favorite at this point for him.

All of the people who rated this product bought it for much younger children.... of course the products aren't going to hold up with kids who aren't ready for them. They are great for my 4 year old who knows how to take of her toys and can play with them with the purpose they weren't meant for.

This is a perfect gift. My daughter loves this toy and never gets tired of it. It helps with her creative side and with eye hand cordination. I haven't had any problems with it breaking and she bangs on everything.

We love this product, which I purchased for my 12 month old DD. She is now 2 years and I love to dance to the Wiggles CDs and play along just as much as the kids. The toys are durable, within reason. I have put them in a plastic tote to put up until it's time to play with them. I keep adding pieces as I find more. Now music time is more than just bedtime or in the car, it is a great way to burn off DD's energy!

Our 2 year old loves this set! She's had it for a few months and everything is still in great condition. Her friends love it too. Our only complaint is....where did the sticks go? It's hard to keep up with it all. But that's typical with any small toys :)

My twin boys has been playing with this since 6 months. I am glad I bought it, but maracas have small beans inside, beware.
