I was already a fan of Melissa & Doug products, because they are natural and non-toxic to begin with, and overall safer for kids. This product in particular really helped my 3 year old learn to tell time! You can't put the wrong block in the wrong slot, so they really get what time comes first (so it helps with counting as well). The only reason this was 4 stars instead of 5 is that the hands are stiff to move, and get stuck under each other when both at 12, but overall a great product! Teaches quarter-hours, too!

What a great well thought out educational tool. This is a great toy for years to come. They pretty much can't pick it up without learning something each time. They can learn shapes, numbers, colors, time, matching, sorting and so on. Not sure what other reviewers are talking about as far as chocking hazard is concerned. The pieces are not tiny, just small enough for little hands to grasp, maybe even small enough to fit in their mouths but definitely not small enough to lodge in their throats.

This product is great, just like all Melissa and Doug products. We bought it for our 3 year old who doesn't find it as interesting as our 9 month old. I'm not sure the 9 month old is really using this toy as it was designed - she just puts all the pieces in her mouth. Probably good for 1-2 year old. Or maybe an even older child, since our 3 year old is not quite ready for the concept of telling time.

Looks like a good idea to teach kids time. My 4 year old daughter is not at all interested even though she likes puzzles. The puzzle part is too basic for a child who will be interested in learning how to tell time. My daughter always asks what time it is, so I thought that she might be interested in this, but she is not. The puzzle pieces do not fit in very deep, so they are easily knocked out. I don't know how to store this. If I put it in the puzzle box, the pieces will just fall out. Every time we get it out to play with it, we have to go on a search for all the pieces.

my 2 1/2 year old daughter loves this. she's been building "birdie houses and princess towers" with the blocks (topping it with the triangle, of course) and counts and sorts the blocks back into the clock.

I received one of these as a gift a few weeks ago and will be buying it for a 5 year old. There is NO choke hazard label on it but thank God I am a smart mommy (more or less lol) ... I will be letting my 3 year old play with it next year - better safe than sorry. Great learning tool but pieces really should be bigger

The concept is great but the pieces are small. This product should have a warning label on it for either 3 and up or 4 and up. I would recommend 4 and up.

We really like this little puzzle. My daughter has used it to learn shapes and numbers as well as the major time events in the day.
