Comments about 20mm Contact Nipple Shield (Small):

I had difficulty with my daughter latching on properly ~ our lactation consultant at the hospital recommended this to me after all her other suggestions still left us with poor latching. What a difference it makes! It isn't uncomfortable at all, my daughter was able to immediately latch on, I had the peace of mind of seeing remnants of milk left in the tip (so I know she's getting fed), and we know have success at breastfeeding. It is a little inconvenient to have to keep this on hand and adds an extra step to the breastfeeding process, but since it is the only way she's able to breastfeed - it's so worth it. I'm getting a second one so I can be sure to have it handy, even thought our lactation consultant suggested we'll likely to be able to ween off of it after the first week or two. Very helpful - I'm very glad she suggested it to us.

Comments about 20mm Contact Nipple Shield (Small):

I found this product after having my third baby. I had so many latching issues with the first two children that I gave up after only a few weeks. This product changed everything! I recommend it for use when you're sore, too. It allows time for your skin to heal if it's chaffed.

I now have my fourth baby and used these the first two weeks then stopped using them after the engorgement went away.

NOTE: One of my babies would get very red around his chin from friction against this product. I rubbed a little Lanolin on the front of the shield and never had another problem. If you have a problem with it staying on, rub some Lanolin on the inside and it will stick to your nipple. Helps with late night feedings when you might be more clumsy!!

Comments about 20mm Contact Nipple Shield (Small):

This small device literally saved breastfeeding for my son and me. I was blistered, cracked and bleeding within 48 hours. My lactation consultant recommended this on day 3. It made ALL the difference. They are so portable, I keep mine right in my nursing bra, so I have it at a moment's notice. I recommend buying these BEFORE you deliver, if you are a first time mom and plan to breastfeed.

Only downfall: they are made of clear silicone, so I lose them frequently. I bought several back-ups.

Comments about 20mm Contact Nipple Shield (Small):

I absolutely love this product. When nursing both my children my nipples got so sore in the first couple of weeks as my breasts got used to feeding. Everytime the baby would latch on I would experience that intial "tug of pain" which would make me clench my jaw and dread feeding times. My doctor turned me onto this product and if I hadn't found it I probably would have given up nursing for formula. So easy to use and pain free. The baby does not have any difficulty latching on to the plastic nipple or sucking and doesn't seem to mind at all. You just place the shield over your nipple and then insert it into the babies mouth as you would do normally. I would recommend using this exclusively for a few days and then every other feed till your nipples are no longer sore and you are able to feed with no problems. For me this product was a live saver and I would have paid any price for it. Take it to the hospital with you and definetly have a second one at home!

This works great for mom's with a strong letdown. Helps baby not to choke when milk lets down too fast, also it's easy to sterilize. The only bad thing is that, since it's clear, it gets lost easily sometimes so I have had to buy three just to make sure there's always one on hand. Great product though!
